Yes! Audition our own prospects (the nucks still have a few that haven't been given a fair shot) instead of recycling ufa plugs.

If your own prospects don't work out then start signing plugs and dumping your dead weight prospects.

Thats right. If they cannot cut it or r not in the plans then move them.

That'll happen when you have a rookie of the year who scores 40g. Another problem I wish van had.

Hutton and Subban both have defensive issues but the big difference is size. Subban gets manhandled in the AHL has trouble getting burned to the outside. I just think his confidence would be ruined in the NHL. zero rush with the kid in my opinion. I don't think he will ever be an NHL regular. I hope I am wrong though.
- CanuckDon

Ive been saying that same thing for 2-3 years

Dont know why anyone even wants him here with his defensive issues.

Another thing Ive suggested for years now is he should convert to wing since he actually plays like a winger and he'll actually have a shot at nhl then

Rather he gets the chance to make it or suck & be traded.
Making him a winger gives him no chance to beat out who we have.
Exile him to Utica forever if he flops idc

A few months back, I brought up 2 suggestions, one was to offer sheet Draisaitl, the other was to have prospects rotate between Utica and Vancouver next season. Most of you laughed, yet hear we are today discussing these issues.
Sometimes we should maybe stop dismissing people's suggestions, right off the hop.

I believe it was Lefty who agreed with me on the Draisaitl comment, not sure if any was a forward enough thinker to support me on the Utica shuffle idea.

I would always agree. I have had a hard on for that kid going back to when he was 16 playing in PA.

Now that I think about you also agreed and Marwood gave a thumbs up. The rest think or know I am a little bit nuts.

Is it possible for Colorado to be worse? They finished so far behind everyone it wasnt even a competition
- WhiteLie

Whenever the argument about tanking comes up, I just think about the year the Avs had.

That situation has become extremely toxic. Almost entirely because they suck. Players want to win, and at the very least, be able to compete every night. Even if we can't make it to 30 wins, a 4-3 loss is very different to a 7-1 blowout er'night.

If the Canucks had a season that bad it would be complete and utter turmoil, Bo and Brock would want out and then we'd be boned forever.

There is not unlimited call ups to be had.
Your idea is fine but limited as well.

If Grigorenko can be signed would prefer over Chaput and Guance to start 4LC. Same goes for Weal if signed then Megna guaranteed waived. In new NHL both the 3rd & 4th lines should be capable of scoring.

Agree we don't need to give Gagner a pay day when Boucher and Rodin could do same and far cheaper.

As for Goldy he's either Comet bound or pushing for a spot over BB.

That leaves JV who should be ready this season and would be an improvement over Skille and DD.

We know LE & Granlund will fill top 6. So that would allow Weal with Sutter and prospect. Boucher & JV on 4th with preferably Grigo 4LC.

The above changes just keeps pace with the upgrades the other teams are making. It helps so all games aren't hopeless. This allows Green to rotate farm boys on call ups for development and not thrashings.

- Nuck4U

Gagner put up 50... Boucher defintely won't and Rodin almost certainly wont (at least not this year)

I don't think we need him at the money/term he'll end up at though

Vancouver should be trading assets this year to recoup those picks. I have no problem with Draisitl Bo Pettersson going into the future but I don't have a problem with Draisitl Turris Pettersson either.

Everyone thought this kinda thing couldn't happen ...it's amazing people in management don't find these things out way in advance...same can be said for the whole ryan oreily offer sheet fiasco ...no one ...Not even the league knew it was illegal ...
- Redmile247

The rule was put in to avoid collusion. Apparently NHL is cool if that was not the case.

i mean the shuffling thing works in principle, though might be a bit much to manage, and you also have to consider having kids develop with some stability.

but in reality anything and everything will happen and we'll be forced into shuffling anyway
