I know for Mackinnon Kreider would have to go, (I just hate parting with him).
I think Colorado is looking for someone to give them almost a Lindros type package.
obviously not that much but they are trying to fleece someone.
I don't want Handzul, he doesn't produce enough for the money he will want.
Plus if Stepan was considered slow, and a bad value of $6.5m a year for 55 point annual production, than Handzul would not be any better value.

Yeah it would be insane to know what Joe S wants for MacKinnon. Supposedly the Duchene price is ridiculous.

Btw, that wasn't my post that had that trade proposal for MacKinnon. I wouldn't post what would we would probably have to give to get him.

I just think it's strange. We buyout one guy and sign another to a deal where you have to imagine we won't be getting our 4.35 Million money's worth each year. I guess if you get better than that for at least 2 of the years while 2 of the years are "eh" it's a bit of a win no? Just weird and tough I feel like consistency is gone from a lot of players, especially defensemen. We'll see! Prove me wrong Smith!

Smith is 28, not a lot of hard miles on him. He'll be ok.

It is but the rates seem to go up for UFAS year to year somewhat. He is huge for toughness back there so a few bucks more isn't terrible. Very happy they kept him
