That caveat makes it kinda hard.

If you offered him 8 years and $62,815,576 (a true AAV of $7,851,947) which should cost the offering-team 1 first, 1 second, and 1 third, it would actually cost 4 first round picks because you'd have to divide that by 5 years, instead of 8.

That completely deters a team from being able to make a realistic offer.

Also, Bonino is markedly better between the dots and also in the playoffs. I view him, if brought in, as a third line center. Which is a needed role. Indicated a few times, I would prefer a 3C that could move up to the second line if need be, why I felt they might pursue other options.

Thanks to Sakic and Chris McFarland, once the avs hired him to be his right hand man, the drafting really turned it around
