I dont think we need Shatty. Honestly, I would rather go into the season with the Dcore we have and see what we have. let the kids play. if we need another guy at the deadline - then we can use our cap to potentially acquire one.
- richardson30

If they want to be a contender while rebuilding on the fly, Shatty is their best option to fit their BIGGEST need. If not, then why would they spend anything of value on anyone else right now, just to use up most of their cap space?
If anyone else like you is happy with what they have right now, and would want to let the kids play (which I hope they let Andersson do if he makes the team), then there should be no complaints coming during the season with ups and downs to be expected.
I only want Shatty in order for them to bring here what has been missing offensively, and on the power play, in order to contend while Hank is still around. But, I will also be happy to wait longer if they were to change their minds at some point, & go under a larger rebuild of youth, if things do not work out good in not having a top RH offensive d'man like a Shatty here once again. No more Dan Boyle fill ins are worth it.

Do we REALLY want Andersson to make team this year?
18 years old
coming to new country
one of worlds largest cities
coming to MUCH smaller ice surface
If the kid is that good ( and I truly hope he is ), let him go to Hartford for season to get acclimated to all of above. I know we have a glaring need at center, but lets not rush the kid!

NO would be the obvious answer.

But to the other things you're saying; don't forget that his father played 10 years of hockey in North America - split between the AHL and NHL. The day Lias is coming over, he will know what's expected!

In the Rangers defense ( ), there wasn't really another pick that came soon after them that would have stood out as a "great" or even "better" pick. I think Tippett is going to be good, but he's a winger and I think the Rangers lack serious depth at center.

Vilardi obviously has a lot of skating issues that concerned teams. Rasmussen might be the worst pick in the first round. Mittlestadt looks like a 6 year old and hasn't proven much playing high school hockey and a little USHL. I think anyone else would have been just as much of a stretch.

I'd pass on Shatty. He was exposed in the Toronto series of not being able to keep up with a fast pace team. Pass on him, Sign Smith, Sign Hanzel, sign Sam Gagne. Make a pitch to Colorado for Mackinnon for Kreider, Graves and a high 2018 pick. We save a bit of money for a RH D man down the road. No need to rush in to Shatty.

The lines could be

Mackinnon,Miller, Gagne
Zib, Buchnvich, Zuc
Hayes, Nash, Vesey
Hanzel, Fast, Grabner

Mac Deangelo
Skjei, Smith
Staal, Holden, Bereglazov, Point, Day

very solid move signing Smith ...Shey -Smith ..2nd pair ?
Staal is now a 5 mill 3rd pair D man?
MUST now get top center ...MacKinnon is he even in a thought to be moved ...
Duschene is next best thing... whats it gonna take ..Shey? may get it done
with all the prospects pecking at the doors to get a shot ..may be expendable for a Top center ,
our next priority not SHatty's deal , not my play but top PP guy who will flourish with Mac ....gotta watch the pricce... 5.5 escalating to 6 mill? id do it

WHO WILL BE OUR TOP CENTER ..we got the pieces and $$$ to make it happen
and must make it happen

J T back to center ? I D K not the 1st choice or isi it ?? never know what
Gorton is gonna do...
