I think his whole time with the club they have tried to be patient that he would continue to grow. Eventually accepted that he is what he is?

I expect some good numbers from him next year for who he will play with, did find it weird he could never get it going with G.

- flyer_nutter

I agree. He should have some good linemates in STL too. . It was weird, it was also weird he couldn't get it going with Jake and G when Raffl could (at least for a season).

Edit: if the Flyers have a quick / good start this season, it's clear Schenn was the reason for our slow starts the last couple seasons.

Sam after finding the lost Lembas Bread just crushed it into crumbs instead of taking it for the rest of their journey.

Sam was trying to take out Frodo the whole time.

I don't hate the Flyers as much as you think I do. When I was young I was optimistic about most everything they did. That changed in 2000. When Lindros got knocked out of the game 7 vs. the Devils it made me bitter. I knew the series was over that instant. The Flyers would have beaten that Stars team in the Finals that year. Anyway from that point until now I've looked at it as nothing will work out, and for the most part it hasn't.

Haha, very funny. With morons like you thinking like you do it is obvious the orange and black koolaid has you dillusional. I have been a flyers diehard fan for decades but I can not take much more of this insanity. Poor Ed Snyder would not approve of this gong show and would have canned them all by now. It is great to be optimistic but you have to face reality once in awhile and get a grip on how it really is. Other than having a fantastic future defence the rest of the team is in trouble. Who will stop the puck and who will score the goals. Couter should be the 3C and shutdown man, not a 2C because he can not handle it. Plus being big man that is softer than butter.

ed SnIder actually signed off on this change of direction while he was still alive

Not sure whether to take seriously...

All of your questions have one quick answer. Its irrelevant. Next years team.

The big picture is what you need to look at, years down the road. The Flyers finally accepted they need to rebuild, and just didnt tank. Dont be fooled into thinking they aren't rebuilding. The team will be good in a few years, for now its still purgatory - but with the kids filtering in.

gotta be trolling. almost every move mentioned was a Holmgren move which is the whole point of being on board with hextall's approach. has to be trolling...no one is this ridiculous

Yikes. Condon signed 3x2.4 with the Senators...so there is at least one other team that would sign a backup for that

Being a Flyers fan is hard..

1. PP Goals dont matter means season over cause of Schenn trade
2. Expecting Coots to break 40 points or 20 goals makes you a hater.

- opeth_pa

Pretending that scoring 39 points in 63 games and 34 points in 66 games isn't solid production just makes you boring. That's 46 points per 82 games over the past two seasons.

I don't know why I keep responding but here it goes....my thoughts on Holmgren not that you care is that he started out very well. he took a poop mess left by a checked out Bob Clarke and rebuilt it pretty quickly. loved his initial moves. then in my opinion he went overboard trying to build on 2010 and made some really bad moves that screwed the team. Based on that I call Holmgren's tenure as being ok.

I agree. Mrazek should have been claimed for sure.

Any reason to believe Hexy is working on Pickard from Vegas? I was hopeful for him or Mrazek coming over in a pre determined deal.

When have I ever said Coots isnt a solid producer?

What I said was I want to see him actually accumulate 40 points or 20 goals in a season. Not a horrible request for someone who now is entering his 7th season and is someone that I consider a core piece of the team.

So if he had played the final, meaningless game in 15-16 and scored a point, that would have changed your opinion of him as a player?

In the same sense that Glenn Anderson isn't a 500 goal scorer because he only had 498. He's not a bad player by any stretch, but he has yet to score 20 goals or 40 points, despite playing at that level per 82 games. If a guy hasn't scored 20 goals or 40 points, I don't think you can call him a 20-goal and/or 40-point player. Doesn't change what I think of him as a player, just that he has yet to do it (due mainly to injury). But he's definitely a good player.

Nope because regardless if he never breaks 20 goals or 40 points I still see him as a key part of the team.
