So back to my question, was it really worth it to give up a 1st Rounder 2018 and JVR for Hamonic (27)? If the trade actually went through?
Or would you rather us target or centralize a trade targeting guys like trouba(23), dumba(22), fowler(25), brodin(23), vatanen(26), schmidt(25), faulk(25), etc. ?
Then take it in that if Tavares strikes free agency next year, leafs will definitely put an offer in like they did for stamkos no?
Would anyone take a flyer on kovalchuk for a 1 year deal or 2, before matthews and marner contracts start just for the hell of it to make things interesting in the next two years or just go with the flow?

It was never a 2018 first and JVR, but no, it wouldn't have been worth it.
Faulk or Hanafin may be tradeable, but it'll probably cost us a Marner; asking price is sky high for young D. The others, ANA dodged a bullet and my guess is they want to keep all of them.
Trouba might be movable, but again, they'll want a Marner for him.
No to Tavares, he's not a good fit.
No to Kovalchuk, I'd rather we keep JVR who'll probably put up as good or better numbers. |

1.) Pretty sure lebrun or someone said it was never jvr and the 1st. Either way glad they didn't get hamonic.
2. Would like trouba or faulk off that list but not for what dmen are going for these days.
3.) If he's available im sure they'll offer something but probably not the richest offer he'll get.
4.) No. He will want to much money and term. No way he signs for 1 or 2 years. Plus leafs would still have to trade for him. |

True, agreed but dont think faulk will cost us a marner, hanafin yeah. Trouba same with him.
Tavares i think they still have to offer him. It basically opens up more options for us to make trades or expend players for more assets. Plus tavares is a top elite talent center, cant really say no to that or at least try.... doesnt matter if you have matthews nylander and marner. Put it this way, if we signed stamkos, wed still have matthews nylander and marner, but probably would of traded jvr bozak |

IF he was a LW I'd be more inclined... as a RW, there's much more competition. |

Honestly, there's nothing that he brings right now that we don't already have.
poop, Leivo put up more points despite playing about 30% of the games... and he could barely crack our roster playing on our weaker side. |

By back to Yak........ (frank) that temperamental soft cock cherry picking prima donna female dog. He's the last thing we need. - As_I_See_It
I don't know I think if he had a good coach like Babcock he could be the next Ovechkin!!!! |

Injury history. Attitude issues. Career high of 33 points. Oilers deal him first chance they get. Blues letting him walk first chance they get.
The second Yak pots 20 goals he'll be asking for $6M.
Think Yak could bolt for the KHL? |

I'm still holding out hope that we can swing a reasonable deal with LV for Colin Miller. |
|

Dan Girardi is out to lunch if he expects along term deal.he would be a good add for any team looking for 4-5 defender but fo 1-2 yrs max. Warrior but pretty worn out,I think. |
