If McDavid is serious about winning a cup he won't cripple his team and sign for that much. If McDavid signs for $13M what does Draisaitl go for, $10M?

Just look at the situation in Chicago now and how Toews/Kane's $10.5M deals (along with a couple other deals) have handcuffed that team. They are LUCKY to be able to gain Hossa's cap.

I hear ya, but McDavid's deal has the potential to screw a lot of teams, and given where we are with 34, 16, and 29 I think the repercussions have the potential to (frank) us badly.

Every time one of these ridiculous deals are signed the bar is inched upward toward more unreasonable deals in the future... Which eventually leads to a lockout.

Rinse, wash, repeat.
