I'd like to see Bailey moved, not so sure about Nelson. He has value. Obviously I'd move him without thinking twice for a good player, but I think Bailey could fetch something like a 2nd rounder in '18. Three second rounders in a deep draft could be a very nice thing to have in your pocket. If we end up keeping both ours and CGY's firsts, we might even be able to trade back into the first round, late. Three firsts in a deep draft year would be a massive win. Would add a ton of valuable assets and potentially free up some others for trades. - eichiefs9
It would be the correct move, but I don't see Snow trading away Bailey. |

For the importance of this team winning, I think they hold much more weight in terms of using them to improve the roster. If we were rebuilding it would be much better to have 3 1st rounders. |

I don't either, but honestly...if (IF) it's true that Tavares' camp is going to demand more money because of the McDavid deal then he's going to have to continue to clear cap space. Bailey would be a no-brainer. Coming off a career year, has a somewhat-high cap hit and is a pending UFA. I'd rather trade him for a 2nd now than sit on him and have to let him walk for free at the end of this season. Not to mention there is a serious log-jam at forward and it would make life a little more simple for Weight. |

That's entirely possible and I'd be all for trading them to improve the team immediately. I just don't know who/what they'd move them for.
I really wish we were in on Panarin, especially at the price he was traded for. |

I agree. Moving Bailey is the correct move and I cannot see Garth doing it. |

Agreed, but I think it makes sense even if JT isn't asking for more than expected. The log-jam means something has to give. Might as well sell high. |

Yeah I agree wholeheartedly, I just don't know if it'll happen. Not maximizing Bailey's highest-ever value since he was drafted would be stupid, especially when the kids are starting to take over the roster and there really isn't much of a spot for him going forward. Guy is going to be 29 when his next contract starts, I don't really see the point in giving him a multi-year deal that careers him into the back-9 of his career. |

I don't think it's signed, sealed, and delivered yet...but all the big Canadian media outlets were reporting on it, so there's no reason to believe it's not, at the very least, mostly accurate. |

We'll see. With a player in that position you only have three options - sign a new contract, trade him over the summer, or trade him at the deadline. I bet Snow is getting a feel for Bailey's expectations. Coming off a career year they will probably be high. The problem is that Snow appears to be in "win now" mode. I don't see him trading what he sees as a top 6 wing unless he is getting another top 6 in return. Even with picks thrown in I'm not sure there is much of a market. |

Well he just landed a top-6 winger, so...
Bailey's contract is totally reasonable, so I can't imagine too many teams out there (other than CHI) couldn't afford to fit him in. He's a somewhat-versatile top-9 forward coming off a career-year. He'd be a good fit on any playoff contender that wants a little more depth. At the cost of a 2nd or a B-level prospect and something like a 3rd I don't think it's that far fetched that we see him moved. Good chance he's not, but it's not crazy to think it's at least logical. |
