Sharp - pass
Shaw - pass
Neal - pass

We want to get younger and faster not older and slower.

I know all nice and fuzzy about bringing old favorites back but it rarely works.

Kane, Gal etc,. is the right direction if the FO can make the $ work.

Mystery d-man I was referring to was Christian Folin.

Sounds like the Hawks want to see what his health status is, and if good to go, they are interested. This could happen.

Nice. Thanks for the info.

Just looked him up...

I like that he's a bigger guy. Hope he brings a physical game with that frame.

I like that we're getting bigger/stronger/younger on the blueline (if this happens).

Not bad, what does it take to snag E.Kane?

I know getting younger and faster is the goal here. I fully am onboard with that. Last year, living out here in Dallas, I got a chance to watch Sharp this year for the breif time he was healthy. He was absolutely flying. Something I hadnt seen from him in the last two years he was in a Hawk sweater. In order to make the deal with SHarp, the Hawks would have to wait another two months to really know how the recovery worked for Sharp. I think I read he was through month 4 of a 5 month program.

If he is healthy and the recovery went smoothly, I think we see him sign here but this echoes JJ's take that it would happen after the Hawks explore all possible avenues.

Reposting from the last blog, because I narcissistically believe my thoughts are worth double-posting:

I don't know whether or not E Kane's off-ice issues disqualify him from a Chicago tenure - and his PIMs concern me especially considering the possible state of the Blackhawks PK next year without Hossa and (probably) Kruger - but the Hawks need some bold moves to get back into the top-level of NHL teams - they need to take some chances on the E Kane's and Yakupovs and other young high-potential/low-accomplishment skaters, hoping to catch one on the up-swing.

As far as Kruger and his bonus - while I'm not a cap expert - I don't see how the Hawks can pay the bonus - which is a bonus for the 2017-18 season - without taking a cap hit back.

- StLBravesFan

E. Kane has never played more than 70 games in his 8 year career. That's a concern as well....... And Sage, I for one read even your double posts.

Kruger cash wise get 3.5 mil this year 2 7/1 and 1.5 the balance of the year.

Yes, my mistake. Thanks for the correction.

The funny things is, Krüger's modified NTC (likely) kicks in on July 1st. If he includes Vegas in his no-trade list, then the done deal becomes undone

Anyone see what the cap hits are on the Forsberg and Jurco deals?

After talking to his buddies in Buffalo at McD's request, P.Kane probably won't give E.Kane a character reference.

Because Bowman was handing those things out like hot cakes to guys who did something good once in a while.

See: Bickle, Brian --> one good playoff series and he was rewarded with a ridiculous contract

Doesn't everyone on the Hawks get some form of a NTC/NMC. SB hands those things out like candy.

Darn. I thought since StanBow seems to be swinging for the fences you'd tell us about a potential offer sheet for Colton Parayko.

Does anyone know where Phil has been?

He used to post on here all the time and had a Larmer pic as his avatar.

I miss that guy.

Signing bonuses mean that players get paid that portion of their total salary up front - Kruger will still be paid the remaining $1,083,333 over the course of the season.

Both Toews and Kane get $6 mill of their $13.8 mill up front this year.

- Tanuki

Does that also mean escrow free?

Edit: Disregard, commented on a page one post, answer found on page 2.

If the Hawks are considering a guy like Boyle, what about Martin Hanzal as a possibility? Big bodied center who is good in the dot.

Trouba is somebody the Jets really want to keep but also know he would bring them a massive return if they elected to trade him.

Tyler Myers and broken down Toby Enstrom are 2 of the Jets Dmen who would be available. Jetsa would probably pick up some of Enstrom's wages.

I have always liked Ben Chiarot.

- RickJ

Me too, Rick. Every time I see him in the lineup he's paired with Buff. Smooth skater, head up, will hit and blocks shots and covers for Buff. ........ Thought this was a solid read concerning the Jets and Cheveldayoff: http://thehockeywriters.c...r.com&utm_campaign=buffer
