I was thinking about getting one of those Wheat Kings jerseys. They look pretty sweet. But maybe a Provy one if I can find it somewhere. - hereticpride
That would be dope. I went to a game this last season and someone was wearing Wheat Kings Provy jersey |

I had the Ottawa brawl on VHS. It was my senior year of high school, there was some stupid thing going on at school that I didn't really want to go to but there was some girls there so I went. Taped it and watched it over and over for the next year and a half because of the lockout.
Chara took on Mattias Timander and Timander got the worst of that. Of course there's the classic Spezza v. Sharp where Sharpie pounded him into his submission. Sean Van Allen V. Branko Radivojevic. Danny Markov coming to the rescue of someone I can't remember who was getting punched while on the ice. Man I loved Markov, he was great. Many more great memories. Who was left at the end? Burke, Gagne, Desjardins (?).

Edit: Alexi Zhamnov didn't drop them, pretty sure he was still on the bench. Was Malakhov dressed that game? He didn't go with anyone. - FloHaake
John LeClair's first and only fighting major as a Flyer was among those in the sequence. |

Losing weal would suck but I don't see a need to add another contract. Not like we're going for it next year |

I get the feeling Veccione is going to be spending some time in the AHL. I'd swap him out for Laughton.
And I also think Lindblom will be quickly making his way up the LW depth chart. |

I guess, but he's going there to be a backup. They have Gibson. His wife is an actress, so that decision is likely family related as well.
Bernier makes too much sense to me, although I think a tandem of Bernier-Neuvy is asking to have subpar goaltending again and having no clue who to start at any moment. Elliott is another name but his entire career apart from Hitch's stifling Blues system has been an adventure. Neuvirth is not a starter. He is a platoon B option at best. I see a bunch of other platoon guys of that caliber available, and who we are likely getting, which doesn't instill a lot of confidence. I see only one surefire starter on the UFA goalie list........wonder who. |

I'm starting to think we might bring in bernier. Hexy would have been in la when he was drafted and would know him. Short term and reasonable hit. |

I guess Bernier, but isn't he like Neuvy in that you know he can't be the guy. Maybe take a run at a Condon or Nilsson where you probably have the same outcome but at least there is still a possibility of a little more. Or maybe the goalie who shall remain nameless see the Flyers as the best club for him to possibly play 50 games at a top 10 level and the team feels the same way with how this off-season has gone. Basically, Bernier seems like the play, but Hexy has been very against the grain in almost all of his decisions.

Speaking of jersey retirements, I'd like 47, 78, 76, 36 unofficially retired. Don't want to look at them. - Mononoke

It's pretty much Bernier or trading for Mrazek at this point. I'll be shocked if they work something out with Mason. |

Rumour has it that Elliott will sign in Winnipeg. Just sign Mason and say he's the starter. Not difficult |

Shouldn't have been difficult the past two years either. It's on Mason more than it is the front office. |

With Mason, he s only played over 60 games twice in his career, and he got 58 games last year. I believe there is some merit Mason was doing some public spinning to justify his mediocre year heading into free agency. IMO, if it's not the Flyers I don't he gets more then 2 million from another club to be a backup up.

I think some of that is a factor in why the Flyers didn't try to re-sign him along with what they felt Mason wanted in a contract. I also think that they felt he had one two many mental breakdowns and hasn't been steady enough.
