Mikhail Grigorenko not qualified by the Av's, seems like a perfect fit here, other options are Brett Connelly and Andrej Nestrasil - KreiderBomb

I wonder what the cost would be to re-acquire Lindberg? |

If Slats was the GM he'd be a Ranger. I'm not sure Gorton is going to follow the same way of doing things as Slats. - nyrangers9479
I must say, it's a little disconcerting, to see Sather sitting front and center at the draft table. Makes you wonder who's calling the shots after all.

interesting from brooks:
Rangers have reached out to Buffalo netminder Anders Nilsson, The Post has learned.
Antti Niemi, a Dallas buyout, Keith Kinkaid, Mike Condon and Ondrej Pavelec may also be of interest |

As per their recent years' re-tooling moves, the Rangers have been "rebuilding on the fly" since their 2014 Cup Finals loss, in order to remain being a Cup contender under Hank. As for one move, they would have only sought an equivalent pick(s) & or prospect(s), as opposed to Zibanajed in their trade of Brassard last summer, had their plan instead been "a rebuild". In addition, the Girardi's, Stepan's, and most of the other main core of the team would have also been gone earlier or by now, in a larger roster turnover.
That turnover would have included a request for Hank to have his NMC waived, & for his benefit in first wanting to win a Cup in the NHL, if that is still worth greater to him than would be residing in NYC, & playing behind a major rebuild in a youth movement. Also, A.V. likely would not have been offered his contract extension last season, nor likely would have signed it anyway, in probably opting to wait for his own better chance of winning a Cup with another contender comprised not predominantly of "kids". |

No. Shesterkin is under contract in the KHL for 2 more seasons, after signing there effective the prior one. |

Nilsson, Chad Johnson, or Kinkaid are their top best 3 options (in nor particular order). I had also liked Michael Hutchinson, had that trade rumor involving Raanta and various rumored version options, came about to acquire Trouba.
Chad Johnson being reunited with Allaire, who he credits for his game progression, would be fine alone for that reason. He also helped greatly in leading Calgary back to the postseason last year, while Brian Elliott struggled a lot of times, in giving Johnson the larger amount of games he played in, than what was originally expected. |

Most definitely worth for Gorton to inquire about, given Vegas's trade of Methot to Dallas. |

That's the best news of the off season thus far (if it does happen). Until we see who and how their new 2 centers will be and pan out, come next season's opening roster, signing Smith is #1 in priority in order to consider contending.
If Smith were to sign elsewhere, then the $20M in cap space may never be used, since it seems by some here & even more out there in Rangers land, would then disapprove whoever else they would likely have to rely on in the Free Agent market to bring in here, without causing otherwise, a hole for another need on their roster via a significant piece forced to be traded. Then that type will probably complain come during the Opening Game why Girardi, Stepan, & Raanta all had to be dealt in the first place.
