Between money taken off the books for Step, Girardi, Nash and Staal; John will land nice and comfy on a pillow of money in Manhattan.

I really am pumped about the direction this defense is heading. A good amount of options going forward, should be a lot of competition in camp this year

Won't be enough with Draisaitl at 10 per already here.

Nash will be back at a reasonable rate too.

this is the way I look at it

the chances of any offer sheet being matched is about 98.9 percent

since there aren't any real good UFA's to spend money on this summer, why not throw one out and see what happens.

I just think Draistatl would be a waste of time more than anyone else

Cause the NHL is pretty much an old boys club and they are too big of pussies to piss each other off

wish it would tho

The idea of getting him is to have someone to get the puck to your boy Nashole

He would be to out of breath after skating 20' to put any zip on a pass.

Most likely, but it would be cool for Gorton to target somebody worthwhile and take a shot. Doubtful we will see an offer sheet though.

Oilers currently have 20 million in space available and nothing other than Draisatl to get done, and once they have to do McDavid they'll probably just get rid of Pouliot and Nugent-Hopkins

Yea me too. Anyone freaking over him getting 3 years is silly as it would totally defeat the purpose of trading Stepan. Rangers ain't going there. It would work out perfectly with Nash also only having a yr left. Nash needs a playmaker and that's the bottom line and there isn't much to pick from

if the Rangers did sign Thornton for 1 year and the team goes south this year, he could fetch something at the deadline.

3 years would be insanity

I like it too. I just don't think the Rangers will win that sweepstakes, especially if Pitt is in the mix.

Would you be willing to put up with that if he's the 3C and puts up the same amount of points as he did last year?

Again this is all based on a 1-year deal. Nothing more

edit: Zib - Hayes - Thornton - Boo/Andersen/XYZ

I dont understand when it was that skating soley determined how a good a player was anymore..I don't get it

He'd a led the rangers in assists last year, just saying

That was my thought. Also would not hurt to have Jumbo Joe showing Hayes how to properly use his body and also get better at draws.

Having Zib, Hayes, thorton, and Nieves as your 4 Centers would be pretty good. If you put Grabs or Kreids on Joe's line He could do some serious damage. When he has the puck he is an elite play maker. at this stage, his problem is that he is too slow to get the puck. throw some speed on his line and watch out.
