I am baffled that Nill was able to essentially get Methot for a 2nd round pick. Blows my mind. It makes Dorion's decision to not trade him prior to LV expansion protection list a little less dumb but still.

I seen a tweet this morning that Sbisa and Eimelin might be placed on waivers. I think Vegas did a brutal job. They should have had Vatanen Manson or Silvferberg from Ana and Dumba from Minn. They took crap and got very poor return same as Methot

Sounds like Vegas dropped the price for the stars in comparison to what Ottawa was asking in the beginning and what Vegas told Ottawa they could have him back for...does McPhee have it in for Dorian ?

They never were getting those players ...ducks would have dealt them before expansion and GM would have left with less if the side deal wasn't reached

Theodore and a pick is not worth Vatanen though.
Dumba would have been better than Haula and Tuch
Thorburn + moving up 6 spots in the first round is not better than Ehnstrom

I know McPhee probably thought he was so smart getting picks instead of good players, but he should have just taken advantage of goods teams having to expose good players, and taken those players.

it blows my mind. If Dorion knew that all he needed to pay was a 2nd and a late 5 rounder former prospect to protect Methot, I am sure he would have done that. It's not that he is an incredible 1st pairing defender, it's his chemistry with Karlsson and his ability to allow Karlsson to jump up in the play which makes him so important.
