This would be ideal. I would even do 5 years. Maybe get him down to 5.75, if possible.

What was his salary this past year, BS?

Your initials are BS. Hmm.

And you did not mention Pacioretty, Byron, and Shaw.

I know some of them could play as centers, but if not, there is a problem there. Something has to give. +, they still need help on defense.

Sign him, then trade1 (or 2) of those wingers for a real center...

I would be reluctant to go longer than 4 years, he's 30 yrs old after all ... we can reassess in 4 years if need be.

6 millions for a 54 point season (18 goals) is very well paid ... if that's not acceptable to him then let him try to get it elsewhere.

It's that fire and tenacity that makes him worthwhile to me. Guys have skill but no drive and it makes for an inconsistent and frustrating player. Radulov was the best F they had in the playoffs too. I would rather see him stay and pay an extra year and $1mill on the cap then let him walk and hope someone else can play first line wing. Imo.

Agreed. I think there's little doubt Bergevin is working hard to make things happen. The team has lots to sort out.
