as an islander fan the flames are getting not only a warrior on the ice but an unbelievable person off the ice. the things he will do for the community are great. he is a total team player and will do everything to win. great pick up for the flames. also by moving to the west his numbers should get better. not having to face pitt wash clb nyr 5 times a yr should help him. he will be missed best of luck travis.

I love his story off the ice...glad to hear he is also a warrior ON the ice

I was a bit concerned if his softie persona off the ice and soft spot for wanting to be home with his sick mom would take away from his focus actually playing hockey (I hope not...seems like he's played alot of good hockey DESPITE the sucky stuff life has dished on him)

I feel like Doan might be motivated for one more year back here in AB....could be wrong. I also don't think he will cost very much.

I feel like having doan and Brouwer both on the right side could have a chiasson affect

And you get mad at me for talking about Doan!!!

I think the Flames need to add some serious grit. Honestly I think that's the only thing they are missing now!

We're talking about top line RW, what if we offer-sheeted Draisaitl and the Oilers didn't match?

Could you imagine?

Can't because you don't have the picks.

Then we would have no first rounders for like a decade and have to trade several key players

A bit of a moot point; but we can offer 9.5x7 and the cost would be 2 1sts, a 2nd and a 3rd.

The oil would have to match, get stuck overpaying two players to the tune of 23.5 million.

Actually I said I WAS concerned

but after more reflection, maybe I still AM
you guys may be all daisies and roses, but I'd rather temper my expectations and be pleasantly surprised than have too high of expectations and be let down

We don't have those picks to lose though

Since we are doing things that are impossible why don't we sign Patrick Kane to a 5 year deal at 3.5 per year ....

Problem solved

How about you, iggy and I go to coffee and we can break down the term "moot point" in detail.

Was just pointing out the cost of a 9.5 offer sheet. We can always hope the 'Yotes, 'Canes, Panthers take a shot at this.

I'm just pissed you assume someone is soft because they want to live close to their family hahaha. Pretty sure that factor determines about 0% of how someone plays the sport of hockey. Family always #1!
