Hard to say that given the terribly defensive play in Dallas, Hitch will get that fixed for sure. But yeah after the year he had last year, Niemi will be in the "lucky to get an NHL contract" boat. I think you can safely say that nobody is going to give him a chance at being a starter this year.

Wonder what the pre-expansion draft ask was of Ottawa by Vegas in order to protect Methot... given how relatively little it took for Dallas to get acquire him, it's hard to see how / why the Sens didn't protect him.
