Trust me, I'm with you, I have been trying to get rid of Staal for 2 years now.

Have confirmed this with Bill Daly just now: There is no blanket rule prohibiting a team from re-acquiring player lost in exp draft already

Chytil and Sjalin were my two favorite picks of the draft
- airjan23

I like the Lakatos pick late, sounds like Tkachyov is not coming over, contract terminated in the KHL but rumor is it's to sign a new deal, bummer

First step is getting Staal to waive his no trade clause

He's mobility has declined so drastically it's just amazing. He was never fast, but before the concussion and eye injuries he was never cement feet.

That and he seems to be getting physically weaker. Not that he was ever considered tough, but he looks like a baby giraffe on ice now.

if the Rangers can't trade Staal, his buyout numbers start to become more manageable after next season

just give him one more year then bite the bullet

but definitely keep pursuing some kind of trade

Got to figure by that time we will also have a better grasp if Day or one of the other three thousand lefties are NHL ready

If they don't resign Smith, I expect this would be the chance for Ryan Graves to nail down an NHL roster spot. If not now, then it may be never for him.

LH shot. But so is Smith. Rangers would just have to bit the bullet and move Holden back to the right.

after this weekend, seems like a lot of people think they are unnecessary

the Rangers could save themselves thousands and thousands of dollars, no need for European scouts

just spend 7.95 on a hockey draft preview, go down the line in their rankings, draft the next guy available on the list, kind of like I do in fantasy football

- jimbo83

i would question if most analytic guys think Scouts are obsolete. " why do we need to watch the kid when you can see all of his data?"

On a draft positive, it coulda been Don Cheadle instead of Filip Cheadle

well, this is an era where it's considered a negative that someone led the league in powerplay goals, wouldn't surprise me

But they already have McDonagh,Skjei, Staal.

So right now its just Holden on the right.. Guess AV will have to bring in another lefty for the right side unless they do Shattenkirk and another cheap defenseman in the ufa market.

Really need to sign Smith
