all of a sudden you'd like your opinions to be taken seriously around here when you've literally done nothing but purposely try to sabotage every conversation on this blog the last 5 months

Can't wait for Patrick to light up Lundqvist like a Christmas tree. Better?

@frank_seravalli: "#Canes have re-upped @ThePHWA Masterton finalist Derek Ryan to a 1-year deal worth $1.425 million. He was No. 24 on #TSN's Top UFA board." I had advocated 1-2 years at $1.5 mil per. Really good move by Carolina.

It's atrocious. I almost ditched the site but the conversations are just too engrossing.

I see Thought he would have been a perfect fit on the fourth line in New York. Bit surprised he didn't try the market.

He's probably a product of Bill Peters system, but hard not root for him. Plus he still holds value with the his extension.

Smith is gonna suck in 2 years. His style of play is gonna break him down like Girardi, Klein, Staal, Callahan, etc.
- rangerdanger94

This is what worries me about resigning Smith though I do want to is the fans will be all over him in yeah 2-3 years

I thought the draft was poor. They seem to do the same thing every draft - if they have any 1st round picks, they go safe. With later round picks they take more chances that usually pay off. I would rather them try and take a chance with some top picks in order to get some top end talent.

I have to trust Clark though. he has done well of late.

I am not sure what their plan is b/c i really dont like any of the UFAs. We have all this cap space, and no one that is worth it.

Shatty - no thanks unless he will sign a $5Mx5, which he wont.
even smith i am not enamored with. I would be looking at him for $4x4, i dont want him past that.
There are not many guys that will push the needle. just another reason you dont "build on the fly". they should have traded 7th overall plus 21st overall to COL for Barrie. that would have made the Stepan deal worth while.
