same with josh norris (went 19th to SJ). similar production overall, norris almost doubled his 5v5 offence.

Again this could all be moot, he could've been gifting his players chances and they're just not burying it but it caught me by surprise that a guy as highly touted as him was getting all his points on the powerplay.

You mean watching the games would actually help form a more well rounded opinion?

I think you are missing the point. It's not so much him getting run out of his own locker room, it's the disdain fans hold towards him and trying to run him out of town compared to other good Canadian white boys who have done far worse than wear an athletic suit to a team meeting in Winnipeg and things he has not even been proved guilty of doing in Buffalo.
- GilPerreault11

It has to do with how good you are.

Sean Avery was a mediocre at best hockey player, and proved he wasn't good enough to overcome his Jackassery. He flamed out of the league

Evander Kane has done more than Alex Radulov. And has been treated about the same.

Again, I agree that race is absolutely relevant in hockey. But I don't think that's the issue with Kane.

His issue is he has one year left on his deal and a checkered past.

Move Kane and Reinhart? There goes 50 or so goals on a team that doesn't score very much. Why the rush to move on from Sam? Second season was a bit disappointing but he's still productive and safe from UFA for 4 or so years.

I get that d is the big thing now. But you'd be selling Reinhart lower than what his value is to us. And to get who? Hanifin? If we had Hanifin we'd likely be trying to move him for a young center.

- Khymlev13

Reinhart had 8 5on5 goals this year, the rest were PPG's. Our powerplay was number 1 in the league, stick Nylander on the powerplay I bet he has more or similar numbers. I mean i'll take a little drop off on powerplays for a better defense & He's not the run & gun player that they want this team to be, as you can see by our draft and where Botteril came from and had the same model.
As for Kane
1 year left on deal, Off ice issues. Had a strong season playing with EICHEL. He didn't start scoring till Eichel came back, plus he had like 5 empty net goals. Kinda inflates his numbers, 23 goals can be replaced especially playing with Eichel.

He could be a poster boy model citizen for the rest of his career and people will still use that against him...because of race.

At least that is my opinion.

Is O'Reilly a speedy run and gun player?

Not every player has to be the exact same for a team to achieve success.

Maybe in Montreal, I would agree. Other places, no.

Have we've heard anything about how awful Devante Smith-Pelley is? Or Seth Jones? Okposo? Bailey?

Why is it just Kane

I'm sure the Rangers will find a way to keep him and sign Shattenkirk. It was mentioned that Scandella is out there possibly, he had 13 points last year and not many more then that the year before and he has 3 years left at 4 mill per. No way would I take that but he is a LHD.

Ryan O' Reilly is locked up long term,
I feel like his skating doesn't hold him back, like Reinhart's skating does.
He's the perfect Complimentary center to Eichel, good on both ends, leader, does it all type of player.

Reinhart will get you some goals on the powerplay, and make a couple good passes a night.

Because he was a "problem child in Winnipeg" and something happened in a bar that got blown out of proportion.

Those you mentioned don't have a past

ROR drove drunk and crashed into a Tim Hortons, has a ridiculous contract, wanted a trade out of a city because they wouldn't give him a contract, refused to play anything but center and is a 50 point player.

But he has a cool hipster beard and a missing tooth and the correct skin tone, so he's a Dr. Phil in the locker room.

Kane was coming back from broken ribs too. I looked at some game logs and he was scoring away from Eichel as much as with when he started getting hot. Eichel probably does have an indirect influence on him as he does with every other player on the team because of the attention he draws. Not for nothing, Kane scored some timely goals for them.

Right, he has a past.

Listen, I'm about as liberal as they come, and probably have been quick to point how racist someone has been, maybe to a fault.

In Kane's case, he did it to himself. He is in fact a jack ass.

Ever hear of moral absolutism? Just because he's a jackass, that doesn't mean he can't also do good things

Yeah, hazing the only other black guy on your team by throwing his clothing into the showers, flipping him off to his face when he greets you, constantly bad-mouthing him and refusing to try and be a mentor is sure leadership.

Right he HAS a past, but even if he is a model citizen and does all the right things he will still get slammed for his past.

He could be 32 years old and not one other thing could have happened and he will still get slammed for his past...because he is black.

His past is relevant because there is a debate on extending him or not.

The guy is one year removed from trouble. Not 5

Oh, have you not met "sbroads"? I apologize if you're new here in town friend, but sbroads was forced upon us in a trade involving an immense amount of cement & a German Sheppard.

I will neither Confirm nor Deny that the specific German Sheppard is the one depicted via Gerbes profile pic
