Hawks are NOT in on Duchene................
- bonecrusher27

Absolutely not. It would cost Hartman, Forsling/DeBrincat, and a first. Plus we'd be back in cap hell. Gotta find another avenue (creatively) to get that top 6er

After this draft, Parchie may need to stock up on vowels for the sweaters...

I wish they'd draft this guy

D ' Artagnan Joly

Don't know if he's got anything, but it would be cool to have a D ' Artagnan on your team.

Thanks for the intel JJ-- its gonna be fluid , hopefully, until the next piece is moved--

What stands out to me is exactly what you mentioned in your post-- Hawks are losing some serious warriors in Hammer, Hossa and Kruger if he goes--

Glad they added Saad who has that same warrior mentality-- Hawks need more of that warrior energy to be present-- and hope that is what they add with the next few moves-- along with more speed

Its unfortunate that Hammer goes from being a 3x champion to exile in the desert-- I know its a hockey trade but wish they could have found a more desirable landing place for him--to reward his service-- I think his talent will be wasted there-- and likely a major trade chip at TDL-

It was inevitable that Panarin was traded because of cap crap--and I hate to see him go-- loved watching him-- and Hawks will need to shore up the goal scoring having lost 72 & 81-- Saad makes up for some of that-- but need more--

As much as I think E Kane would be the type of player that we need-- I just can't imagine McD with his image consciousness taking that risk--

Conor Murphy does bring some 'jam' and curious how Ulf coaches the D corps this year-- we need some physical presence on the back end

We shall see how it plays out

I think they are two pieces short at forward. One high end talent and one experienced grinder. Not sure how they fill that and where they find the money though.

Murphy is a monster. I think we will be pleasantly surprised with him. And if they let Kempny somewhat off the leash you've got two big mobile men who can lay some lumber.

Indeed, worst part of the over seas kids. That's where nicknames really help. Put the puck in the net or keep it out enough and we'll hear his name enough to get it right!!

Be nice to stay out of hell for a week or so just to enjoy not feeling the dread of it. .......... Don't know about you fellas but I have a great feeling the Hawks have a reasonable plan to retool, adjust, reload and still have sights on the cup and are EXECUTING it. An organIzational plan. .......The names matter much less IMO than does the plan and execution of it.

Yea. I don't think this team is where Stan wants it yet. I said after the year I'm giving him the summer. The first two moves are interesting steps, potentially WINS, but could also backfire. But losing Krugs (if), Hossa, and Hammer as JJ said subtracts a TON of heart of this team.

I still want another center (whether AA is moved or not) to WIN faceoffs and give third line help (Do NOT want both AA and Schmaltz playing center, they both suck at faceoffs, but we could use 1 there. So if AA is moved then I'd roll Schmatlz to C), another D-man (does NOT necessarily be a star, just a solid 4/5 type) and a top 6 winger. Yea, that's asking for the moon I guess, but it's what I think they need to compete for the Cup.

Those wanting Neal. Malkin's nickname for Neal was apparently "Lazy". Not a good sign.

Murphy is a monster. You don't get named Captain of the 2017 USA World Championships team unless you are.

Haven't heard the BS there vs The PEG, but then again, I wasn't looking for it. So the trade to BUF straightened him out a bit?
- blackhawk24

He still had some off ice issues that I found out about yesterday. Something about a fight and an alleged "sexual incident" that was being looked at. Not sure if anything ever materialized from the investigation but I don't think it was "out" there on every blog a la Patty Kane's alleged "sexual incident" so who knows what did or didn't happen.

Any word on $ Jumbo is looking for? If Stan can get Buffalo to retain 50% of EK's salary, they could afford Jumbo at a certain price.

Saad/Toews/Panik
Kane/Jumbo/Kane

Could be a lethal top 2 lines then go get Tom Wilson

Yea interesting. If he was such a slug how would he have gotten that gig? He was also MVP of at least one game in that tournament. Yea, he stinks.

I do want this group to get faster and younger but Thorton checks so many boxes, face offs at the top of the list, he'd be such a great fit. ...... As many have mentioned what would Kaner's point total be next year with this freak feeding him the puck and winning draws?

............ How much more dough does a 38-39-40 yr old Thorton want? Dude is a gamer I gotta believe priority one is a cup at this stage of his career.

Low cost, B-Rich type deal would work, but why wouldn't he just return to San Jose? They are still a good team.
