Anyone see Tanner's spot in that "Who won the Saad/Panarin trade?" ... actual intelligent analysis, and very objective. He even gives edge to Hawks. Nothing like his idiotic blogs.

Thanks for the intel JJ-- its gonna be fluid , hopefully, until the next piece is moved--
What stands out to me is exactly what you mentioned in your post-- Hawks are losing some serious warriors in Hammer, Hossa and Kruger if he goes--
Glad they added Saad who has that same warrior mentality-- Hawks need more of that warrior energy to be present-- and hope that is what they add with the next few moves-- along with more speed
Its unfortunate that Hammer goes from being a 3x champion to exile in the desert-- I know its a hockey trade but wish they could have found a more desirable landing place for him--to reward his service-- I think his talent will be wasted there-- and likely a major trade chip at TDL-
It was inevitable that Panarin was traded because of cap crap--and I hate to see him go-- loved watching him-- and Hawks will need to shore up the goal scoring having lost 72 & 81-- Saad makes up for some of that-- but need more--
As much as I think E Kane would be the type of player that we need-- I just can't imagine McD with his image consciousness taking that risk--
Conor Murphy does bring some 'jam' and curious how Ulf coaches the D corps this year-- we need some physical presence on the back end
We shall see how it plays out |

What's the opinion on the Jets second rounder (#43), Dylan Samberg? 18, 6-3, 211 LH-D. Looks to fit the mold of the Jets and where I'd like to see the 'Hawks more often. - blackhawk24
Nice player, highly thought of. USHL is loaded with 2nd-3rd-4th round type Dmen and he was first of the lot off the board....... You can see him play the Steel next year when Waterloo comes to town.........Ferraro taken right after him to SJ is a Krug type. |

If they think he can help win a Cup they'll do it, that's the IMAGE they really want. If you can get him for a bargain (Buff retaining salary) that allows you money to go add another player or two (with Hossa's LTIR). The Hawks could go from a suspect team today to a team stacked in the span of 2 moves, should Stan be able to work it out. Does NOT have to be EK, but someone like him....speed, size, skill and nasty. Those boys don't come cheap.

From the perspective of teams playing you, it doesn't even seem close. If you ignore contracts, ignore how good they'll be and if they'll be playing for the Hawks in 3 years, and are just talking about the people who will be on the ice next season, wouldn't most Hawks fans agree:
Hossa, Panarin, Kruger > Saad, Dauphin
Hjalmarsson, TVR > Murphy
Darlng > Forberg
I understand Hawks fans being happy with the moves, some of your loses were out of your control and happening regardless. But right now, Hawks look significantly weaker than last years team, and just made a bunch of rebuild on the fly type moves that set them up for down the road. - Antilles
Last time I checked, Kruger is still a Hawk.... you equation does not work as listed does not work... also, they signed a couple of young Dmen who will replce TVR....

Plagiarism is the only answer. I avoid his BS, won't get paid for my click. Straight to comments and read others ripping him a new ass. Caps/'yotes fans deserve much better. |

He is working on #1 troll status, seems they are all active today. I went to the Blues page to return favor - but nope, last blog was on the 17th. I think they are up to 4 pages of comments equaling about 30 minutes on an average JJ blog. |

LOL don't do it man. Just walk away thinking Tanner is sensible. |

I didn't see a drop in his physical capabilities. Many have commented about his increase in d-zone "errors" - which I acknowledge - but I also would argue that the entire team regressed in defensive execution. Breaking the o-zone cycle, exiting the d-zone, the stretch pass... it all diminished over the last two seasons.
If someone has some statistical work to show the individual drop in Hammer's play - I'm open to the education. But citing his age and blocked shots doesn't settle the debate - at least not for me. - Chief4Feathers
I think the drop in play was more related to the teams overall struggles exiting the zone. When you do the same thing over and over and teams adapt you can get around it by having more talent. When you do the same thing over and over and don't have the talent overwhelm teams then you're going to have a bad time.
I think it's purely having 2 blue liners over 30 already and looking to get younger. Hammer got them a nice piece and was easier to move today than Seabrook and his contract probably helped push the value there. Plus the Hawks got a young center they were keen on as well.
Good deal for all parties IMO. |

Soderland in the 4th, a centerman, smallish. Always a good sign when a kid represents his country internationally. http://www.eliteprospects.../player.php?player=188028 - Mr Ricochet
Read his profile, small, skilled, and a brilliant skater. Playing against men. Got a Swede back thank goodness...we lost 1 already and may lose another, gotta keep a few Swedes around. |

Hawks with two picks in the 4th and two to come in the 5th. .......How bout a goalie for crying out loud. Can't expect to find Darlings playing A pro every few years. |

We got that with Forsberg, I say keep hammering these position players with the multitude of picks. Stan needs a bang up draft to keep the Hawks train rolling in 2-3 years. |

Love seeing kids play pro with junior eligibility left. Especially the smallish kids, shows that size isn't a concern........ You have any profiles? Please post. |

Goaltending weaker. Less scoring. Defence weaker. Tougher and harder to play against. You think that adds up to being better? No wonder your coach walked out. - VopatsRash
wow...you back again..go back and watch G6 of your one hit wonders...the guys with yello helmets...
not even worth engaging with counter arguments
