So if they do trade AA doesn't that put the Hawks pretty thin at C? Who would be their 2-3-4?

Well Schmaltz will get the first crack at 2C one would think with him playing some there last season.

Kero/Hino...etc...

that Danault trade looks even worse now than it did at the time...

also once they move AA - who stands in the paint? Since Shaw is in Montreal...

can you get Jumbo Joe on a sweetheart deal...? Put him with Kane and look out.

Stan's still got a lot of work to do here.

Why get Duchene when we could get Duchene AND McDavid

Don't forget Malkin. Geno could line up at 4C.

I hated to see Danault traded and on top of it Q hardly played Weiss. Maybe they could sign Thornton but I wonder if players might not be as inclined to sign sweetheart deals because they are in this mini rebuild and not a team that we can say are a lock to go deep in the playoffs.

Yes I think so. When he's played with Ship you can see the difference (granted they haven't played together in the NHL.) Last season teams quickly realized if Kane and Panarin were on the ice together chances were you'd see a cross ice pass for a one timer and it became something that was defended well more often than not. Playing with Ship who has elite vision and passing ability as a center made it hard for opposing teams to defend because if they covered Panarin, Ship could score himself or pass to Dadonov and vice versa.

Are you suggesting that Kane doesn't have elite vision and passing ability? Are you suggesting that PAK didn't have as much scoring skill as his old KHL line, or any line he is likely to be on in Columbus?

I know you have a friendship with him, but do you believe his being anchored in the Ovechkin spot on the left dot was the only place he could be on the ice when it became defended well? Was it ordered by the coaching staff? By Kane?

You seem to be saying that Shipochyov and Dadanov were better teammates for him than Kane and Anisimov.

Oh yea Denver U is solid, champs this last year. Coach Montgomery was at Dubuque (USHL) before moving to Denver a couple years back, won a cup or two there. Saavy recruiter and evaluator. ...... You see a lot of NCAA hockey? Great brand, lotta speed and physical.

Top NCAA feeder league, USHL, churns out more and more NHL picks. Second only to the OHL this year.

Haven't in the past year, but I've seen a lot. It's a very good show
