Very happy with the Ratcliffe trade/pick! Think Lucic if this kid pans out! What a draft the Flyers are having. 3 first rounders and one was rated #1 overall. Obviously it will be judged 4years from now but as of right now...I'm loving it! A+

Have no problem with it...everything is just icing now. Next pick WILL be a defenseman.

Couldn't be happier getting Schenn off this team.

I would have taken a bag of pucks and a day at the bunny ranch.

Maksim Sushko surprised many with his standout rookie season in the OHL and provided strong secondary scoring depth with 17 goals and 32 points in 54 games. Has tremendous vision on the ice and thinks the game at the NHL level. Strong along the perimeter and gets into good position on the power play. Quick, crisp passes on the tape and likes to get involved in the offensive attack. Strong on the puck pursuit and has good speed fighting for every inch of ice he can get. Tends to drift out of the play when the puck is in the defensive zone and needs to work on his two-way game and stay engaged in the play every second he is on the ice. It still remains unseen if he will turn into a true sniper and a dynamic playmaker.

DID YOU KNOW? Sushko put up nine goals and 30 points in 21 games for Shakhter Soligorsk-2 of the Belarus-2 League, adding three goals and 13 points in the postseason and leading his team to the league Championship. He is also a 2016 first round draft pick (11th overall) of Dynamo Minsk in the KHL.

Got a sleeper in Strome. He may be the Lindblom of this draft

So EJ Hradek says that Strome has nice skills but needs to improve on his skating and conditioning...sounds a lot like Lindblom during his draft year...I like it!

Hopefully. The kid has been ripped to shreds for his skating.

I think the Flyers got the player they wanted most. Nico does have that offensive flash but Patrick might be the more complete player now.

As for the Schenn trade, I like it. You got your money's worth while he was here, but if any of the Flyer's top 6 would be moved, it would have been him. Return seems fair. Good job Hexy.

They are addressing the forward position on day two and particular power forward.

They really needed a draft like this after going so D heavy the last few years. The farm system is looking pretty good right now in almost every aspect(maybe just missing a bit of skill on the wing)

I know lindblom had skating issues too but it seems like Stromes are more pronounced

This is where I hope Laberge rebounds to have a good year in the Q.

gotta think how he was rated as a 2nd round pick, taking him in the 4th is a low risk high reward type pick. perfect spot to take a swing at a kid that dropped like that

12 hrs after the Schenn trade I am still in the conflicted column. PP specialist or not, the guy put up a 25 goals a season. I just wish the kid we saw in the Boston playoff series was the Schenn we saw night in and night out. All that said I love how Hextall is really stocking up on highly thought of prospects. Sucks for G, Jake and Simmonds but I can't help but think this is going to be a deep team in 2-3 years. Filppula and Read will be gone after this year and Lehtera and Neuvy after the following. Maybe Raffl too. at that point AMAC will have one yr left leaving them with more options of trading with retaining salary or buying him out with one yr left. this team is getting young fast.

Not saying the reports on Strome are wrong but from a quick Youtube viewing, he seems to do a decent job of getting some open looks for a bad skater. Hopefully he can work on the skating and conditioning and become a steal.

We have plenty of power play players only. We will live without him.

Not trying to be mean, but the interview with Matthew Strome...

Seems a bit dopey, but hopefully that means he is a battler.
