Why do I have a strange feeling China will sign either Iginla or Jagr to deals next month? |

Im not going as far as to hitting the panic button yet but I can understand the concern for this team going into the season....with that being said there is still lots of time between now and the start of the year....deals to be done signings to be had plus the draft....I will also add Bennings name to your list I believe there is something there and he could keep improving next year - RatedR80
He could but I prefer betting on the lower end of improvement. Better to plan for him NOT replicating his very impressive season than to assume he's going to. |

COUple solid two way 50 point seasons From nuge and strome could go a long way - Ihateallofu
Oh they most certainly would. I know it's kinda a fresh wound for some but after spending yesterday delving into the player, I've come around even more on the deal. I really don't mind it at all and, in fact, I believe it's the type of deal that Chiarelli will have to be good at to find success with this team (trading a proven, higher priced piece for a less proven, low-priced piece with similar abilities). |

What about internal regressions?
With no Eberle or Sekeras, if Draisaitl slips even a little it will sting, and you can't bet the farm that Maroon won't repeat husband points totals. Nuge and Lucic likely flatlined so I wouldn't expect much change there. - Larsson_fan
I mentioned those in the post you responded to. All of Maroon, Letestu, Talbot, Draisaitl and even McDavid were mentioned. |

I'd be pretty happy to see a guy like Jagr sign with the team. He's proven to still be an effective top-6 guy and would present a solid barrier of entry to the top-6 for all our younger guys (PuJu, Slepy and Jewels). Might even bestow some useful knowledge on our guys to help them bring their games to another level. |

HE might see some More bounces go his way. I feel he fanbase come close to Ebs production I will be happy. It's not a good trade But it's kinda sorta reasonable, if he shows some usefulness away from the puck. |

He would have to play with either Nuge or also but tho 5X5....too slow for
McD. |

I was thinking Drai would make a bunch of sense. An absurd cycle line with Lucic. |

Just saw a clip from Tim and Sid where the one with hair was basically begging McDavid to ask for 14 million... I wonder how he'll feel when it's Matthew's time to negotiate a new contract. |

I think it's more a matter of fit for McLellan's systems. He's faster, better at puck protection and, by my eye, has a better forehand shot. He'll likely be better suited to playing with McDavid and Draisaitl than Eberle was. Add the utility of spliting faceoffs (only taking draws on their strong sides might help improve their %s) on a line with McDavid, as well. |

I'd like to see Nuve be traded for Barrie. We made have to add, but Duchene will be gone so they'll need a 2C and I just don't see Nuge ever being that here.
Rantanen is another interesting option from Colorado.
I have no clue how we'd ever get Hamonic now, so doubt that'll happen.
Faulk is another good idea because Carolina needs offense. He's been doing better than Jordan Staal. Maybe Nuge excels there.
For right wings, Jagr, Radulov, Kovalchuk and Williams can fill that second line right wing spot if we want to let Pulltuggy develop more. |

Yep
He's capable of doing it
I've made no secret of my stoke on ebs. So talented. And while I don't think strome possesses the wow factor ebs can, he has skills.
And like max- It didn't take long till I came around abit on the possible pluses of the deal. But to then spend that cAsh on this Russel deal erased any good feelings I may have had about it. I can generally find my way to see rationale in most of chias moves . I even did with the Larsson deal before he actually played and helped us.
But I can't with this one. I have zero doubt we'll regret before it's half done |

I guess I just disagree that it's so awful. Certainly not ideal, but considering Sekera's injury and thus Russell's position of leverage, the market that seemed to exist for him and his results last year, it's not that out to lunch. Not good but not one of the worst (bottom 20 by my gauge). Below average value. - MaximumBone
Can always count on thread boss to have a level head, and show some level of objectivity, instead of purely biased opinions. |

They won't deal rantanen.
Doubt carolina considers Faulk either . At least until hanifin shows he is what they hoped.
ITs not like I don't think nuge for barrie is bad value - but not ONLY is that another big contract on the the backend we prob can't afford now, we can't hurt our forward group any further really at this point. Quite the opposite. WE need nuge to step up and get 50+ |

We'd be back to square one if we were to trade Nuge for Barrie. It'd be like the same had we kept Eberle and not signed Russell.
I really think they should dump Pouliot. Doesnt matter for what honestly. |
