MacT was a rookie GM that was in over his head. Eakins was a rookie NHL coach that clearly couldn't work a system the players could buy into.

Chia and McLellan are a seasoned Gm and coach. Not to say they can't make a mistake but comparing them to MacT , Eakins is laughable.

Chia earned won a cup in Boston and soon after that earned a reputation for making bad trades and getting the Bruins in cap Hell with an old immobile roster, which is why he was fired.

Look, he's done some good stuff, but he doesnt seem like he's very calculated. He almost seems knee jerk reactionary and somewhat desperate.

I thought maybe he learned from Boston how to manage the cap better but from what I've seen so far , he's not the best at it.

I don't agree at all about the awful Russel signing, buy maybe you're right. But certainly not because of the reasons you originally stated. It was just a poor argument.

Again- people "in the game" don't automatically know better. They're just regular dudes who can be bad at their jobs and are prone to bias and mistakes
