Gorton continues the trend of getting the Rangers younger. Cant wait to see what is next because I have serious doubts we make 2 first round selection tonite! |

Is it light, Jan? Could be, but I don't know. Another year like that out of Stepan, and we would be happy to trade him for a hunk of cheese. So, basically, it's a bit of a projection by the Rangers, maybe trying to get out ahead of the curve and not having another albatross unmoveable contract (if they think he really is declining). Hard to say on this one. Going to miss Stepan as well.
Whole new day for the Rangers. - Pete V
I wanted a bit more than the got. Understand moving Stepan now as well as knowing the full view can't be decided until we see what they pick at #7 or use the pick and cap space for in the next two weeks. I give my view, may not be agreed to by all, but that's fine. |

If people give 2 poops about a players political views, probably means they need more hobbies.
If he can play the right side I don't care if he hunts for baby seal slippers in the off season - mdw7413
When a player gets suspended twice for what he does, and calls a bunch of women Japanese Whores, yeah, I can't totally be thrilled about that guy coming to the Rangers. Is he young? Sure. But once a jackwagon, always a jackwagon as far as I am concerned.

tony D should be good for NYR. he isnt strong in his own zone but hes a lot like yandle. he moves the puck well hes got a good shot. and has a good first pass to clear the zone. as far as his issues. hes a little bit of a hot head he had issues in juniors and last year was suspended for abuse of an official in the nhl. its kinda blown out of proportion. in the heat of the moment he shoved a ref. totally a mistake in the heat of the moment. should not be labeled as a problem. stuff like that was said about duke and since hes been in AZ he has been nothing but great. |

There could be 1 big move coming, there could be 5 more moves of varying "size" coming. I think you said it last blog, the following moves will define this trade.
I can't imagine they stay at 7 unless there's 2-3 guys they like. It's too far down to predict who you'll get.
BTW, when is the draft? |

Having one of the best backup goalies in the game is like having a super hot sister. So excellent job turning that into a big pick where it can be more useful. - Queenie_5_hole
Plus cap space. Could easily fit Shattenkirk now.
McDonagh - Shattenkirk
Skjei - DeAngelo
Staal - Holden/Smith |

Patrick Kane was accused of rape, beat a cab driver, and does a poopload of coke. I'd take the 3 Cups he helped Chicago win though any day. |

The deal needed to be made, Stepan NMC kicking in on July 1st was a potential killer. He's not going to get any faster, or younger. Good luck to him, in the land of the sun. |

I preface this by saying in no world do i condone what he has done in his past; HOWEVER, we always say this team is too nice...
As long as he's professional and doesn't hurt the team, his marked past might just translate into some grit on our blue line. |

hate to see Step go, but love to see him traded for what we got. If step was signed for $5M per year, i would have said to keep him. i will miss his balding head.
AD seems like a decent pickup but the 7th i think is the real prize. I expect them to keep this pick. Gorton seems to value drafting much much more than Sather ever did. Our D core might be really really good in a few years:
McD, Skjei, AD, Day... if we pick up another top flight Dman we are set for a few years. |

So, the Rangers aren't going into next season with just Zib and Hayes at center. Something else has got to happen. |

As draft day in Chicago begins to unfold, told that there is no traction at the moment in NYR talks with Coyotes re Stepan.
