Rangers might confidence in Hayes taking a step forward? I'd rather Hanzal over Thornton, because Hanzal ins't Joe Thornton. And that's fine by me. - tomburton99
Not that I want him necessarily, but is one year of Jumbo really going to kill them? Or you for that matter. Cmon man lighten up about him sheesh |

Here's the year-by-year breakdown of the Oshie deal with the #Caps, expressed in millions of dollars:
Front loaded, so the next lockout will erase this deal. |

Really excited to have NYR news on draft day. It has been a long time. Wish we could have gotten more for Step/Raanta but love the cap relief and getting out of the Stepan contract before it became a G/Stall issue.
Cap space is only good if used correctly so Jeff we rely on you Sir.
Stepan, Thank you for your hard work and entertainment over the past years. Good luck in Arizona. |

You're a Mississauga guy, is Hague worth the pick at 21? |

Back from a dinner. Surprised to see we still got both the 7th and the 21st.
Gonna be an exciting draft. Maybe trading the 7th to Vegas for their 15th and a player? |

Who on that roster besides Shea Theodore is worth moving back 8 spots? |

I didn't think he was a 1st round player myself. I was thinking early second but with the lack of depth this year mid 20's seems right. Don't see him anything more than 3rd line and that might be a stretch. |

That being said I would love to have a local boy drafted to the NYR so I can watch him all the time.
I said that about Stuart Percy a few years back drafted high by the Leafs and he has yet to Crack the NHL. |

Wonder if Rangers really go off the board and grab Timothy Liljegren at #7. |

THis move is very good in that it does have a rebuild tone to it, but they still have flexibility to be a contender with a few more moves. Gortan did a solid here I think, unfortunately for stepan he was looking like a liability before to long if he wasn't already.
The leadership he gave was definitely something they were clearly worried about as well. That crease lashing he gave Hank may have told them a lot - Slimtj100
I agree TJ with you here, and only mentioned that word, "makeover", due in part to what you said, plus that the move had to be one made also to flip one of those first rounders as part of a deal for an established center to replace Stepan, & who can win more key face offs.
For a team wanting to win now, further moves must be coming, or else you do not get rid of a second center of yours in the last 3 days for what they did, in receiving for now, not the better player in exchange, despite also that #7 pick, which likely will not be here when Hank is around, in a lower draft class this year. |

The Ottawa Senators are still trying to move Dion Phaneuf. Source says there is "some interest" from teams on Phaneuf's list. |
