Well, Kevin's a good guy, but it's reached a point where the "legit" media are reacting to rumors on social media as well. Look no further than the Oshie Charade that "legit" media were pumping the last two days, PURE FABRICATION on someone's part. And I have that from a Hawk source with no motive to deny it.

We live in a society where people now choose to reinforce their beliefs with their preferred version of facts. So it should come as no real surprise when people will only deem credible what full-time journalists report. As though no one else has relationships with players, coaches, scouts etc.

Or that teams and agents don't take advantage of this belief in the infallibility of "legit" media sources to push their desired narratives out through those same "legit" sources.

D-U-M.

So all that said, I will wait to jump on this rumor simply because like the Oshie thing, it has the feel of an interwebs invention. Might not be either. It bears further investigation.

I don't follow too much that happens outside the boards but I have the believe the wound(s) between Q and StanBowPops&McD started when Q turned his nose up at Daley who was then moved on to immediately win a cup followed by another. Q ran him out of town and played Rundblad in the Game 7 loss to STL. That kind of stuff probably never gets forgotten...... Then his usage of Weise and to a lesser degree Fleishman at a cost of Denault and a 2nd rounder opened that wound even more.

Seriousky though if you scrutinize the Arizona model NOW and FORWARD whomever the ciach their young GM has set the menu and it is dynamic skating, skilled puck mover featured per pairing. Hjalmarsson is complementary in one pair.

JJ I'm not gonna wade into the legit vs non legit hockey media debate but will say this about Weekes. As a former NHL goalie I have never learned a thing from his mouth, nothing. Now that nails on a chalk board Pierre often has solid points and facts I didn't know............ Weekes, a nice guy, gives one who seeks info nothing where as Pierre, a goof, is helpful if you can stand to listen to him.

Like the 'Hawks aspiring to the Wings model on their rebuild, I know there were a few things the Cubs took away from their Cards rivalry.

I can't believe the Cubs are so mediocre in all three major facets after 2-1/2 months. Some pitching? Sure. Some hitting? Yeah. But the defence? Wow! I won't count out the Red Birds unless they are 20GB.

Id still love to see that E Kane deal get done today.

Well.... Rutherford said he was going to address the situation during the off season when it came to his stars getting rung up. Protection for Syd. Believe it or not , which is still part of the game. Steep price to pay but I get it. I'd take Reeves also ,but not for a 1st rounder. They won 2in a row and are deep. I was hoping that Lawson Krouse would be part of the Arizona deal coming back this way, good hard nosed kid that can play . Chicago lacked in that department severely last season.

Jeez... lighten up up Francis. His original point wasn't off base, and is shared many people. Hammer is definitely the most accomplished and the two we got back are unproven. ANYONE is free to post here, as long as they arent attacking other people.

I have no problem with posters from other teams coming on here and have great conversations about what the hawks are doing and compare it to there teams. The issue I have is when you have a select few posters from other teams coming on here and bashing what the hawks are doing on just about every post it gets a bit old. I come on here to read what other hawk fans think about moves that should be made or rate moves that have been made and I really enjoy that.

It was not a 1 for 1 for Reaves; Pitts got #51 in this draft.

They really didn't trade him for a first, they swapped players and moved back roughly 20 spots.
