Love the Saad acquisition

-Cost control - 4 years x 6 Million
-Panarin was 8 million as a free agent
-Saad bigger and better in the playoffs

Hawks trade Anisimov for Saad
Pick up Panarin in Russia for nothing and trade him back for Saad

In the End- Panarin for Saad and Anisimov
Good deal

Hammer 🔨 deal
Disappointing
But maybe more to follow

- Colbyboy

What, no Saad bonuses?

Panarin is a dynamic offensive player but Saad has been really consistent the last couple of years as well.

Goals the last 2 years:

Panarin = 61
Saad = 55

Not as big of a difference as many think.

almost as good as Russel
- lovinhawks

Awful awful contract

There was some rationale in the savings from ebs.
But to then go and blow your wad on Russel for 4 years!!?
Idiotic

But yeah- Stan made a boneheaded move of his own on that nh trade

THat hjalmarsson deal was almost as bad as the contract chiarelli just gave Russel

You guys got fleeced.

Let's see...how to deal with an aging defender with a ton of miles on him, whose contract is up in 2 years...hmmm.

1.) Keep him and watch his value and performance decline.
2.) Sign him to an absurd extension for past performance screwing up your cap even more. (e.g. Seabrook)
3.)Trade him now for a decent return that saves some cap space for a much younger player.

Not really a tough decision...especially for a perennial max cap club.

And someone posted before, I think, that Saad had more goals 5x5 than the Russian.

For some reason, Saad wasn't used much on the PP in Columbus - anyone know why?

wait until OEL moves the puck to Hjalmarsson and takes off up ice to join the rush only to find the puck still on Hjalmarsson's stick.

Exactly and what these clowns ragging the trade fail to understand is the Hawks have found a way to FIND those players previously deemed unworthy....the list is impressive...Sharp, Versteeg, Leddy, Panik. Bowman has his hands on the last two...so I trust the Chicago scouts that the two guys acquired from the Desert will work out.

Dauphin was buried on their depth chart. Prob for good reason .
Murphy isn't half the defender nh is.

I dunno. Didn't really think of the upcoming extension I guess. saved some bucks but probably got significantly worse

People who "complain" about these trades are either trolls, or have no clue how to manage a club in a hard cap league.

I'm still pissed off at the term that Seabs got...way too long.

I ignore clowns, or try to; they're scary!

The Dale/Sharp deal still amazes me to this day.

Both 'yotes players were previously on the 'Hawks radar. FO did their HW.

Agree. I'd have been fine with the term had the salary been lower. Bowman did a poor job with several contracts. Looks like he's fixing it. Just hope we don't land in 10th place because of it.

K, wait. So unless it's sunshine and positivity it's a troll ?
You guys need to get out more.
Sh1t- I thought maybe if I prefaced it with how awful the guy who runs what happens to be my fav team is, you'd be able to recognize that it's merely an opinion I wanted to discuss saying the same of yours

Maybe we need a troll flowchart.

Not sure it's possible to judge Murphy...a 24yo defender...based on his time on that declining mess of a club in AZ.

Sometimes you gotta trust the front office..and it may seem crazy, but 3 cups has me trusting SB and Co.

I didn't realize he had fallen so far.
A week ago the prospect of trading for him was gonna Cost the potential suitor dearly cause he was so good and fairly indispensable

Weird how quickly that changed ...

K- maybe that was a tiny bit of a troll

I assume you'll still have a roster of 23 or so...? And the club still plays in St. Louis?

There ya go...plenty to complain about.

Guessing it's more like AA, Debrincat, 1st for EKane at 50% retained.
