1st and a prospect is actually the going rate for a rental player like Kane, Sabres can get that anywhere come trade deadline. Blackhawks want to lose salary in the deal, there aren't going to pay less than Kane is worth elsewhere.

His off & on ice issues also need to be taken in to consideration when calculating his value. Yes, at the deadline they would get a large return but this is the summer and the demand isn't as high right now as it will be in Feb. |
