Still blows my mind that Saad is back. How many times does a young, blossoming star player like that leave his first team to receive his big pay day elsewhere....only to wind up back where he started just 2 years later without any dip in his level of play or trajectory? Crazy circumstances. Really sucks that we were put in a position that forced our hand into moving a talent like Panarin....but at least we got back another star talent, a fan favorite, and a very exciting player to watch.

Now lets pray we can land another top 6 winger and maybe another tweak on defense. And pray some more that Hossa comes back for the playoffs if we're good enough to make it. Ya never know.

Think it'd be cool if somehow they got Saad there either tonight or tomorrow to announce one of the Hawks picks...that would be a coup for McD.

Sounds like a great, hardworking kid. Could be a great addition to the team.

And he thanked them for the "warm welcome"

I guess warm welcome for Gary is based on nothing thrown at him, no instances requiring protection, etc. ?

Outside at the fan fest. If you bought a ticket for the draft, the pass is included.

Yea, I can't remember fully, but I do know Florida and I think Pittsburgh gave the Hawks kudos. The fact I remember that is scary.

I find it highly difficult to believe he was not consulted on these moves.

If so, say hello to the next head coach of the Chicago Blackhawks: Kevin Dineen.

- John Jaeckel

Just got to this page on the blog.....damn working on Friday's.... But wouldn't it be crazy that Q loses his job to his good buddy Dineen because Dineen didn't hold anything back in his year-end interview and Q probably said the usual stuff he's said the other years they got bounced in round 1.

Assuming McD is running things for Rocky, I can see a situation where McD sits down with Q and has a "come to jesus" meeting with him. Its my way or the highway type of thing. On one side of the scale you have the Bowman(s) and the other side you have Q with McD looking at it like a Roman Emperor and deciding if he gives it the thumbs up or thumbs down.

I kind of doubt panarin is very good without Patrick Kane.
- Cephalopods

Makes me wonder how he led the Hawks in scoring when he was on a line with Hossa then?

Seriously, while I am a fan -I was a bigger Savard fan and he wound up on the Canadiens - thing is... I became a Chelios fan.

Nothing at all was wrong with Panarin's play. I also suspect he would have been decent on PK duty, but the Hawks usually like to have two guys -FO guys usually out there.

Will wait to see what else they got going on.

He can afford to. The guy is being paid millions for mediocrity.

He didn't lead the Hawks in scoring when paired with Hossa - at the end of that experiment: Kane 20 points, Panarin 19. And I guess you missed my posts from the past, but Kane contributed to over half of Panarin's points (8) when they weren't full linemates while Hossa only contribute to 35% (5).
