Hayden has all the makings of a decent bottom 6, power forward type.

For some reason, I think Fortin but I think both may need time in the AHL. Fortin is a better, faster skater so he's physically a little closer but don't have a strong opinion about this really.

Why did Debrincat get so many points then compared to Fortin?

I find it highly difficult to believe he was not consulted on these moves.

First on Hossa: keep his contract it fits under the 10% overage allowed and on day 1 LTR him. With a remote possibility of activating him for the PO.

On Q: too PUCKING bad. He can take his doghouse and pre-madonna attitude and shove it. Better yet Stan, trade him to Arizona they need a coach and we can get some value for the putz.

I personally hope they have a press conference right before the playoffs saying Hossa's condition has been cured by tea tree oil or something just to watch Blues nation collectively blow a gasket.... again. It's been another enjoyable aspect of all of the Cup wins - watching blowhards (pun intended) calling the Hawks "cap cheaters" to console themselves.

Dude, I said I didn't have a strong opinion on the subject lol. I just typically think players who are better skaters tend to have a leg up on those who aren't. The question was about NHL readiness, not necessarily long-term potential. I'll be happy if either / both earn a spot and help contribute to the team next year or any time in the near future.

So regarding Connor Murphy. He has several seasons under his belt with the Yotes. He a potential top 4 type or more of the 5/6 mold? Big D. 603/212. Didnt know his dad was Gord Murphy. Good DNA no doubt.

Can only go by stats and such because I haven't seen enough of him but he was a projected top 4 d-man and he played as such in Arizona, but hard to say if he is one when Arizona's defense is extremely shallow.

He's big, reported to skate well and have a decent first pass but offense isn't necessarily his thing. Categorized as a stay-at-home guy, he did get more DZS than any Hawks d-man did last season (the Hawks have one of the highest OZS% while Arizona has one of the lowest, though) but faced mostly mid-tier / low high end quality of competition and did so-so, but his quality of teammate was low. His shot metric possession relative to his bad team is fine and he showed improvement every year.

Tanev? Meh. His kinda game is not the way its played anymore. Plus injuries. Virtanen is struggling at the AHL level plus has some serious work ethic issues plus can't make a really poopty Canuck team.

Curious to see if the Blackhawks announce another trade from the podium tonight.

Still blows my mind that Saad is back. How many times does a young, blossoming star player like that leave his first team to receive his big pay day elsewhere....only to wind up back where he started just 2 years later without any dip in his level of play or trajectory? Crazy circumstances. Really sucks that we were put in a position that forced our hand into moving a talent like Panarin....but at least we got back another star talent, a fan favorite, and a very exciting player to watch.

Now lets pray we can land another top 6 winger and maybe another tweak on defense. And pray some more that Hossa comes back for the playoffs if we're good enough to make it. Ya never know.
