It's totally possible that this is true, but there's no way to know especially since they developed at different rates. In 2013, Panarin was still unknown even in the KHL - his big break out year wasn't for another couple of years. - L_B_R
I get that, but I'm talking about the 2016/17 version of Panarin using a time machine and going back to play on those 2013 and 2015 Cup winning teams instead of Saad, and the 2014/15 Saad playing for the Hawks teams that got knocked out in round 1 the past 2 seasons. We'd be sitting here talking about how great of a playoff performer Panarin is(or at least calling him a winner), Saad not so much....

Joking aside, I think Jurco showed signs of being an asset.
He's strong around the blue paint. - Hank3Henshaw
He sucks and will be passed by in quick order. |

Interesting moves today. Not sure I agree with them, but interesting. - carcus
Well, I always turn to a Blues fan to get a good gauge of deals the Blackhawks make. |

Better hope Forsberg never needs to play for any long stretches. He was absolutely putrid for the Jackets when called up. AHL bad ass, NHL dud. - Jimmys7

Meh, he's fast. If nothing else, could be an energy guy? |

So you're talking about hypothetical situations that involve time machines? |

Can't stay on his feet. Doesn't belong in the league IMO. |

Two questions for you guys here, 1) What do you think of Hayden? and 2) Who has better chance to make team, Debrincat or Fortin? |

He isn't that fast. Not really strong on his skates either. Meh. Maybe he can find a role. I think he is replacement level at best. |

Hayden has all the makings of a decent bottom 6, power forward type.
For some reason, I think Fortin but I think both may need time in the AHL. Fortin is a better, faster skater so he's physically a little closer but don't have a strong opinion about this really. |

Hayden should find a spot in the bottom 6 in time.
Maybe neither at this point. Both probably could use some AHL time now that Dent is gone. |

I wonder why? He was supposed to be talented. - Bjm84
I still wonder if the scouting report was wrong or if there was a marketing element to the decision to ask for Dano over some of the other forward prospects CBJ had or a 1st round pick... Did the brain trust want the imagery of Hossa mentoring Dano over his obvious skating issues? |

The point is that Saad was in the right place at the right time playing for the best team in the league. Panarin got here a year or 2 too late....when the team wasn't the same and had major flaws. If he was part of the 2013 or 2015 forward depth instead of Saad, despite how different their playing styles may be, i bet we'd be singing a different tune when it comes to who the playoff performer is/isn't. - SimpleJack
Time will tell. Panarin did nothing for Toews. If Saad doesn't help you may be right about right place right time. I think Saad adds speed, size and defensive/pk ability Panarin doesn't. Panarin brings elements and style CBJ needs. CBJ has plenty of shoot first snipers with size and speed. Panarin helps create more and has more offensive skill overall. |
