Prospect is already 23 and couldn't take a spot from carter rowney or a 40yr old Matt Cullen. Sullivan probably knows his game best and obviously didn't think highly of him

Sundquist didn't look like he was any closer to the NHL this year. But why turn down a high risk high reward Russian prospect for a garbage goon in skates? Putting the least garbage on the ice is how they just won back to back cups.

Agreed. This is a bad trade from an asset mamagememt standpoint, but probably doesn't effect the Cup defense unless Sundqvist has a big breakout.

it was inevitable, because even though he is wrong, its what he thinks is best. and give him credit, the man has conviction. so a move in this direction was gonna happen, and thankfully its relatively small.

have to think they must have soured on sundqvist a bit. moving down 20 for a scrub like reeves is obviously a net loss, but its not like they gutted the organization or moved guentzel or something. still stinks, but the shine off of those cups is still going bright

JR said he wanted toughness that could play.....Reaves had 7 goals last year on a St Louis team that plays defence first.

I think we needed toughness despite what anyone says or what the results were. I like Reaves. I don't value late round draft picks much.
