31st pick basically a 2ns.... - HealthyScratch6
Speaking of 2nds, any notable players left in the 2nd round? Quick look it seems like Hague is still around. And Dipietro seems like a good goalie. |

Kinda hoping we can find a way to draft Hague tomorrow. Seems to have a lot of what we need. |

I hope that Lou still has a plan for a D or two, via trade or free agency. It was a great pick at 17, but probably a year or two away. He could be sent to the Marlies, however. |

All the D that are available seem to be mediocre and over priced. I hope he doesn't make a move unless he hands down wins the trade. Leafs aren't winning the cup this year. See what they got in rosen borgman dermott Nielsen liljegren first and then make a trade |

He said he needs another year in Sweden, then to compete for an NHL spot. |

I feel like it's almost impossible to move an elite player nowadays.

VGK has so many D too. Kind of thought they'd unload a bunch, maybe tomorrow.
I honestly don't know why they didn't just take the best players available and screw all the side deals.
They could've had a top 4 of Dumba, Manson or Vatanen, along with Methot, but instead grabbed Stoner and Engellund, ECHL all-star? Like, I know GMGM is trying to build goodwill, but when you got the league by the short and curlies and you're trying to put the best team on the ice, why make all these sweetheart side deals? |

Liljegren already said he's gonna do another year if developing.
Maybe one of the other makes the 6th spot, all the rest will be in the ahl.
Leafs still need a 4spot dman, have to either trade or sign FA. The next two years are their best years cap wise to make a run |

I've been thinking the same thing for days. It's just plain dumb.
Even if they expect to be bad for a while, Dumba and Manson/Vatanen are still rather young and have a lot of prime years ahead of them. I do not understand how those side deals give Vegas a better overall position than just taking the best players.
I also question just how valuable having the supposed goodwill of a couple of gm's really is. |

With their luck even if they finish last they'll end up drafting 4th in those years. |

Yup, agreed. Competitive, young top 4 D? That could take years and years to build through the draft. |
