I have a prediction the Sabres will make at least one big splash today/tonight at the draft but I've been wrong a lot It's been awhile since they have made a big trade. We are due and this is a big trade year with a new GM who has players he's not tied to.

Screams of desperation after their 1st round exit and Hossa's issue. However, desperate does not = stupid.

Like someone earlier mentioned, they look like they're going to bottom out to some capacity for at least the next year, so it looks like they're going to start with the re-tooling to get their cap in check and load up again for another couple of runs a few years from now.

But these moves are puzzling unless a larger deal looms.
