Oshie is a better player all around then Kane, Oshie should make more.

Kane is probably 4 years younger.

Paying a guy until he is 39 is the tough part and the reason his cap hit is lower
- Stripes77

The duration certainly lowered the overall number, but Kane will probably want a long term deal that would put him into his early 30s. Kane plays a much more physically demanding style, so his body could start to deteriorate sooner.

Would love to trade Kane #8 and zemgus to CAR for hanafin. They get the offense they want, the pick to draft a D to stay flush with them and another player in girgs. We get a top pair defense and keep rhino
- Fattony1187

Girgensons has less than ten goals in two seasons.

Lot of talk about NYR using space for Shattenkirk. They liked Yandle a lot, but were wary of term there. Someone like BUF makes more sense

This is likely old news but I was working all day.. I don't love it. That's one defenceman I'm not interested in.

My sister in law is allergic to cats pretty bad, yet with a simple pill she can function around them without going into sneezing fits. Unless hossa literally bursts into flames from his allergy, I'm sure a professional athlete wouldn't have too much trouble finding some sort of medicine, some of which I'm sure average joes like us could not obtain, for a short term solution, be it game by game or perhaps a monthly injection of some kind. The convenience of it all is just too "X-files" to simply believe.

not too mention, If I were hossa, I'd be looking for custom gear without the said allergen impregnated into the equipment. Or I'd threaten to sue the NHL for putting my health in jeopardy if they won't allow him to use another type of equipment. There are ways to solve this issue, but to retire and supply cap relief is the best remedy apparently

- bberkey1

Sounds like you haven't read up on it.

This isn't a simple cat allergy. Also he was taking medication, the problem is like any medication you take eventually your body becomes immune to it and it doesn't work anymore.

You cannot sue your employer, that is what workers compensation is for. This is not an injury, it is a disease.

There are allergies out there where people are are allergic to their own sweat.

The only thing that makes anyone say hmmm is the fact that his contract is awful and the hawks are in a cap crunch.

I do know that this is a legit disease, it's just awfully convenient.

he undoubtedly makes us way better but the contract it would take is too much.

I was hoping he and ennis were packaged the off season after Nolan, as both of their value was the highest they were ever going to be. Hindsight is 20/20, but man I was on the boat for the two to be shipped

Agreed. Plus he did not show up for Caps in playoffs, If we could find a way to get rid of BADgosian I'd be more open to it but if not that would be likely north of 15 million for just the right side of the defense alone!

Oh don't get me wrong, I know people who have the dreaded sun allergy, so I'm not doubting there could be one sever enough to cause this type of damage. I'll have to take a peek and the medical info on it.

They don't make any equipment anywhere that does not contain the material that affects his allergy at all? I know that seems like the duh answer, but I wonder why you couldn't have specialty equipment prepared to help with the problem. Also, what i meant by suing was that if the NHL mandates that this is the equipment their players must wear, but there was indeed a way for Hossa to obtain special equipment to help however, the NHL won't let him have it, then the union could step in a point out the disregard for health and safety. In any case, its crappy all around for a player

Text from my buddy take it for what it's worth -

Russ has been running the draft process for the most part while Botterill catches up. Word is that Russ is clamoring for a trade of Evander Kane and the 8th overall pick for a 5th and Ryan Miller. Russ really wants to sell tickets.

If Russ Brandon has anything to do with an NHL draft other than PR, I'd poop myself

He isn't the first person that has had to stop playing because of it.

I wonder if they don't know the actual cause of it...who the hell knows.

The NHL doesn't have any sort of mandates as to the types of equipment that is worn underneath just has rules on sizing.

As is the case for many aliments. I have a client whose granddaughter hasn't spoken her entire life (12 years) and has various learning disabilities, but only just last month they finally came up with an actual diagnosis for her syndrome. I forget the name, but it has to do with a particular chromosome.

Pegula leaving presser early was to confer on deal.
A gift for Eichels wing may happen tonight.
Multiple moving parts, if the other party excepts...........
We shall see.

Enjoy the draft all.

How do we get a d-man then, while it would be great to have PKane this leaves us with nothing to get help on the back end.
