If JVR was meaner, he'd have put up numbers like Brendan Shanahan. I watch him a lot in Toronto, and he's the same guy he was when the Flyers moved him -- there are games when he cannot be contained. He might put together two or three games in a week where you think he's the best PF in the freaking league

Then, he's right back to cruise control for five or six days

My point: JVR had the physical tools to be what he was projected to be. Just doesn't have the motor, and you can't tell that until they play
