I'd be moving MacDonald for basically nothing with money retained if need be. The bit of cap space and more importantly the roster spot, or temptation for Varsity to play him.

He's not close to being worth 6.5 million per. His play is trending in the wrong direction.

Probably worth more like $6 mil, but it's a small difference and Arizona can cover it.

I mean, Hextall didn't use a protection slot on him so the GM doesn't feel the same way as the coach, or at least the way his usage of him suggests. Maybe he will be on the third pair/scratched/ahl this year.
