I'm not upset with this trade. It was time for Eberle to go, he does not fit in to Chia's type of team. Jesus, was he disappointing in the playoffs too.

Strome could flourish with new teammates. Lots of cap space now too gives Chia a lot of options.

Hope this works out as well as the Hall for Larsson.

Is there any reason why the Oilers don't want to part with their 1st round pick? You would have to think they could have packaged it with Ebs and gotten a better return.

I am just spit balling here but I am pretty sure Snow would have loved to get back into the first round. They probably could have gotten Strome and De Haan with some combination of Ebrerle their 1st and maybe a mid level defense prospect.

They really need to replenish the forward skill cupboard. They've gotten lucky picking up college guys like Caggiula and I bet Foo signs with the Oil but there's basically nothing else coming down the pipe except for Poolparty
