Why?
It would suck if we all just agreed and gave each other hj's all the time
I mean fuk- if pc does in fact sign Russel to 4x4- this place better be fuking angry. Whether you're labeled an apologist or a homer or a hater or whatever the fuk. That's awful
We can all stroke each other and be happy if we ever win a cup. - Ihateallofu
1) that is only because Chia gave them away. And not only them. He has sold many assets way below value.
2) no. He came I to a team with vast assts that was already poised to break thorough and they did. He had nothing to do with any of the core
3) again no. This team with McDavid, Klef, Talbot and Drai all having great years did that. Not Chia. So many players had career years. Not one or two but 6+. How many will repeat that?

It's not about agreeing all the time; you and I (among others) have proven we can disagree without disparaging one another for years. It's the manner in which people choose to express their disagreement. I've beaten this to death, though so I'll spare you my complaining. This thread is a damn near perfect microcosm of the modern political and ideological climate.
At the end of the day, I don't get to choose how others interact. I only get to choose whether or not I subject myself to it.
Says he would trade all of his individual awards for the Stanley Cup, and that it's all about the "team stuff"... When he signs his contract we'll see if he really meant that.

You're such a tool. PC changed over half the team and you still give him no credit for the turnaround. You gave excuse after excuse for MacT even though he made no improvements to the team yet PC turns the team around 180 degrees in a short time and all you can do is spew hate like he's done nothing.
the oil are competitive, almost won the division and almost made the final 4 after 10 years of missing the playoffs and all you can do is female dog and complain.

You should be a Canucks fan. - Oildrum
No PC gets no credit due to the fact the only, and I mean only reason the team did good was McDavid. The roster could be McDavid and 22 AHL or ECHL players and they would have done just as good.
Or it could be the 2015-2016 roster with a healthy McDavid and they would have done just as Good, no probably better because of still having Hall and the same D-core from that season.

That's right, and MacT would have done the same thing if he'd just had a little more time. Timid Tambi and Bold Talk MacT were on the cusp of greatness.
Although i guess we can thank their ineptitude for getting us McDavid. PC has pulled the trigger on big trades the others couldn't do and the team is 100% better for it.

No but they would be just as good had PC made no trades. That's a fact. Ask Iggy.

I don't think a lot of you understand the type of players that are needed on a championship calibre team. Russell is one of those players. - Oildrum
Except for some of the most dense derp-tards (like Hendo, and someone's bff) most people have no problem with having Russel back. The issue is the term and money. Too much, too long.

trade eberle to sign russell good move - Bigern4MVP
Because clearly the only reason to make room, was for Russell. Can't be any other trades or UFA's to sign between now and the beginning of the season. Dumbass.
