My theory on that is because the Islanders suck

I can see Strome playing 3rd line centre really well (and being happy with it) and allowing Draisaitl/Nuge to stay in the top6. I've never been a fan of Eberle though, too one dimensional, but he could be fantastic with JT.

3c if Nuge/Draisaitl aren't playing centre. Leon is a fantastic centre, though he did well well with Mcdavid, I would play him 2c, then strome as 3c. They still have a really good combination of forward, Puljujarvi is going to be a factor soon.

consider how bad his shot was when Gillis found him in Rochester, he really has come a long way. Tanev is a real pro.

Everything I have scene on the acquisition is he will be playing wing, slot into the top-6 in Eberle's place. I hope he's awful, cause (frank) the oilers. But he could be a nice skillset with either leon or MCjesus

With JB saying he is ok moving down a spot or 2 tells me C is what he will pick.

I liked the special on him before the Awards show last night. Kid has already been through lots of poop, mature, skilled, and wants to play in Van. Seems to make perfect sense, really hope we get to draft him

he's definitely more of a Horvat/Boeser than a Virtanen in that regard.

I hope Buffalo gets serious & make big moves to get over the hump.
Tanev would be a key piece solidifying their D.

Many will say too much but in a weak draft both teams need a true veteran top pairing D to upgrade D immensely with all the young talent already assembled.
In the Sabres case Kane is in sink or swim mode for another year to prove he has smartened up & their D has nobody to speak of in their system. The Yotes cannot continue to be in forever rebuild mode. Gone r the old vets & in need of quality new veterans to take them forward
