What is your feeling on Galyenchuk for Tanev? I think Galy is underachieving and soft. Not sure I want to go down that road. - VANTEL
I don't know...getting younger and more skilled...seems like a win. Although, I have no idea what his contract demands are. I'd prefer draft picks and players a few years younger personally but it's not a bad move. |

Galchenyuk is no #1 centerman but can play the 3 spot behind Bo and Sutter after Hank is done. And he can play the wing just as good or better than any of our current left wingers. - Itsjustarash
We don't need 3 x third line centers |

He seems to keep on failing to meet teams expectations. I do't know if I would give up Tanev. |

I think it's a fair trade but not who I would target. Keep tanev and hope he doesn't lower his value this season. Sell him for a kings ransom at the TDL. |

Benning: We're excited about Olli Juolevi. Phillip Holm looks like he's almost ready to play in the NHL. We've got Andrey Pedan
I tell you OJ will be paired with Tanev this year. His job to lose. |

This is a Canucks thread, show some respect.
We don't go over to the VGK area and pi$$ on your shoes. - hillbillydeluxe
Sorry, here is some respect for Stecher, he is such a good skater that he skates circles in the defensive zone, he is better at avoiding body contact than any other Canuck not named Edler.
Just joking, I'm sure Stecher will turn into a #5 D man now that Sbisa is gone |

OK so let's hold onto our assets until they will be worthless in a couple of years. That seems like a good plan moving forward. |

"We're not looking to move up..." but depending on how the first 4 picks go, could "look to move down." Benning on #Canucks draft

Benning says if the #Canucks are trading Chris Tanev, they need a defenceman in return. #CanucksOn1040
Benning suggests the #Canucks could use their two 2nd-round picks to trade back into the bottom part of the 1st round.

Trading your best Dman for a third line center is even dumber |

It is hard to pass up on some offense when that is what we are looking for. But it doesn't sound like he is a #1 Center and that is really what we want. Hard being choosy but I think we can be patient. See who we draft. |

"Hesitant to now Trade Tanev unless they get a D-man back". (this to me shows a lack of commitment towards a rebuild)
"Olli Juolivi is ready for NHLs game. Just needs to get bigger/stronger"
"With Sbisa gone, and Tryamkin gone, We need Gudbranson's physicality more than ever"
"Not opposed to trading our two 2nd round picks to get back into the 1st round if there is a player we like" (this to me is stupid, based on the pick being 33, and that it would more than likely be a late 1st round pick). |

Just met with Jim Benning at his media availability, sounds very unlikely that Tanev gets dealt. Said they'd need a d-man back. #Canucks - VANTEL

if its for 1 year, and to get back an excellent return on Tanev, why not? Let next year be a wash and let it all begin when the Sedins are gone |

These two comments are positive... but not trading Tanev is very shortsighted |

I dont understand your comment regarding trading the 2nds to get in the first? What if trade both for pick 24 and grab Kostin? Quality > quantity. No brainer |

As most successful smaller dmen have done, that discription fits noedemeyer to a tee - neem55
There a couple differences between Niedermayer and Stecher, 3rdOA vs undrafted, 6' vs 5'10", but I will agree that both prefer the offensive game.
I'm really just joking about Stecher, I think he could have value to the Canucks, he needs to work on his overall game and be paired with someone that could offset his defensive challenges.
