2 Sedins and a Edler is better than 1 McDavid and a Russell

Isn't that like playing the Sedins more than Bo?
- VANTEL

Yes....and we don't need those (frank)ers anymore either #1moreyear

Can't the NHLPA step in if a player undervalues himself too much?

Just saw the schedule for next year

29 games in 58 days in February and March.
17 of those games are on the road.

I'm guessing that's where a big chunk of the tanking will occur.

Teams need to get rid of Goalies with high caps, the smart Benning move is get assets for taking on a goalie like Lack, Halak, Lehtonen.

Because they'll play him 55 games while Markstrom rots another year as a backup for 3.67 million.
- LeftCoaster

They obviously don't believe in Markstrom.

We don't need him at any amount.
- A_SteamingLombardi

I like Miller...I'd rather have a solid vet working with Markstrom and protecting Stetcher than some trash reject from another team. If I have to pay $3MM vs $2MM for some unknown scrub, I take Miller. I realize no one else agrees

I thought they could step in on deals under certain scenerios. As if McDavid signs for 8-9 that becomes the standard for his play and would ultimately lower what other players get. Teams/Agents use existing contracts of similar players as a basis for a contract. Same with arbitration.

November is pretty bad.

But february and March is non stop. It is essentially a game every 2nd night for 2 months.

6 back to backs during those 2 months as well

^------ x a million.

We don't need Miller. A backup maybe......
Green knows that Markstrom has the stuff, and with knowing your coach believes in you.......Marky will play even better..

+

someone suggested a "take a goalie and get a pick" Sounds like a heck of a plan

If Marky poops the bed.........isn't that what a lot of people here want....to lose?

Oh yeah....a video.....

I think they'll start tanking at the Young Stars Classic.

On eve of NHL Draft, Coyotes have no coach, no captain (yet), no president/CEO, no starting G, no No. 1 C (still), no prez of hockey ops.

I don't think that's the case or they wouldn't have signed him, Benning has some strange loyalty to Miller, he can't let go.

I don't think so but I'm no expert, Paul Kariya went from 10 million a year to 1.2 million because he wanted to play in Colorado.

Edmonton is giving Kris Russell $18 million over 4 years.

Chiarelli

- classic321

Funny thing about that of course is that Russell will most likely see the cup final in 2-4 years playing in EDM.

Too soft.
Enables the country club atmosphere to continue.
Bring in Tippett.
Need a tougher coach that knows how to win.
