I do agree with you, I just don't agree that it would cost that much to win that trade. Sprong will be an impact forward right off the bat that could easily score 20 goals this year, Maatta could possibly turn it around (not hopeful, but possible with his potential), sheary could yield more attention than not given his past season? Colorado isn't the smartest franchise either - rbaurle51
I would rather keep Sheary who had a great season last year and is a proven talent than trade him away fro someone who MIGHT (but probably not) crack the roster this season. |

I think that is quite the stretch. He is a good prospect but it is far from a guarantee that he becomes a solid NHLer. |

Not necessarily but he is a top 50 F in the league capable of playing C and you would be bidding against idiots like Snow and Bergevin. Also you have to look at it as trading Maatta, a burnt out prospect, and 2 futures to put together possibly the best cap era team yet. - Feds91Stammer
That is what you want to pay for a guy who scored 6 goals in the second half of the season. Are you in need of therapy??????????????? |

Not sure if you've noticed, but sheary is nothing without elevated talent around him. Sheary can honestly barely stand on his feet sometimes.
Given his success last season, I would trade him while he still has higher value. |

He fit right in when he played a few games with us before. He had some things to improve, but the kid has the scoring touch and knows where to be. Very smart player. I'm telling you, he can definitely score 20 goals in the NHL if he had playing time |

How about this would you trade Sprong straight up for Evgeny Svechnikov? |

I think they are relatively equal in terms of value based on their production. Point being while they both should see the NHL from day 1 this season they both need to be sheltered on the 3rd line and if they come close 20G 40P it was as successful of a season you could ask for. I think your expectations for Sprong are based in a fantasy where only the best possible outcome can occur. |

lol you think so, huh? How about this, not many people, actually no one, saw guentzel being as good as he was. Sprong is a legit talent, and why could he not score 20 goals if we get duchene like we should? Hell, why wouldn't we put him on Crosby or malkins line considering we did the same exact thing to sheary, rust, guentzel? I think you aren't being as realistic as you should be. |

Throw at McPhee our 1st and take Schmidt.. this draft class is crap and we are not getting a better player than Schmidt with 31 overall |

A lot of people saw how good Guentzel was before this year. He was a point/game player in college, and came into WB/S and lit it up in the playoffs for them last year. |

was thinking the same thing. Hate giving up a 1st round pick, but doing it to get a guy you have control over for a few years is worth it. |

Doesn't always translate into NHL success, he did look good, but you know what I mean. No one really saw him blowing up like he did. |

Flowers going to remember those Disco years (when no defense was played) very fondly. |
