It's part of their master plan to protect their assets so they can overpay for Duchene and/or Eberle.
- Tojo.

That actually was a good trade for Eberle. Strome had stagnated the last couple years.

How about the Pens looking at Colin Miller? He played great in the AHL and seems to have some goal scoring ability. He is on a $1M contract and then becomes a RFA next year. He plays the RD side and looked like a good 5/6 D for Boston the last two years. Could give the Pens some cheap depth. Anyone know more about his speed and passing ability?
- so_buzz11

Colin Miller 6'1" 198lbs 24yrs:
He skates well and has a booming (though not always accurate) shot. The right shot D-man has also demonstrated an ability to play both the left and right side -Boston Herald

So, that leaves Duchene for the Penguins, right?

Rumor that's been out there was De Haan, 1st, prospect for Duchene so they can still do it and probably are going to try. We can't top that.

They don't have their 1st anymore, do they? I thought they gave it to VGK?

Especially if the prospect is Barzal, which I've heard thrown around. He's going all in to keep Tavares.

Being that he is moving to the desert, I think Flower's new nickname should be 'cactus'.

They don't, but their 1st next year is worth more than our 1st this year.

Get ready to welcome Matt Duchene to Carolina. I expect they have a deal lined up to send one of their other D to Colorado. Outside chance it could be RNH from Edmonton.
- MacPatty

Edmonton now has Strome who could fill in as a 3C, increasing the chances of trading RNH for a D man. Also a possibility they could use some of that free cap space to take a run at Shattenkirk, though not all that likely.

Not sure if the NYI are more or less likely to trade for Duchene now. On the minus side they added $3.5M in salary with the Strome trade, on the plus side they now have need for another C.

Vegas will be doing some wheeling and dealing with some of their picks and players. I could see Edmonton being interested in Methot and Colorado being interested in some of those picks they have stockpiled.

Shattenkirk and Edmonton would actually be a great fit.

You snowflakes are acting like the Dems when H Clinton lost. He is not dead, he has just moved on. That is the way of life in all professional sports. Get over it and move on. Here is a fact.....From 2003 to 2016 MAF on a single Cup on his own In two years Matt Murray has won 2 Cups One all by himself and one aided by MAF. I think his track record is much better. Use your brain not your heart. It is a business.
