The Flames should be shopping Bennett for a #4 D man, or some help on the wing.

They have their top 3 centers Monahan-Backlund-Janko...Bennett is the chip they need to move. I honestly don't think Bennett is going to be a top line type of guy. Especially the way this team is shaping up.

How would it be tampering if Vegas had a 3 day period to negotiate? Im sure BT wasn't signing him anyway so he could have just traded him to Vegas today for future considerations to help Vegas have a resident on their team. Im sure it was an option.

Why would they have to replace Backlund in a few years? I don't understand that point?

I think the Flames can win the cup with Monahan and Backlund 1-2. If trading Bennett brings in a guy like Barrie then I would do it.

If they could swing that, sure. I still think we are going to want Bennett for the playoffs though. It's if we are suddenly adding picks/prospects to bring in a dman that I'd have a problem (especially if we end up adding some of our good d-prospects).

We could use 1 legit top 4 vet, but I think we have a very good group of prospects coming up. If we can just be patient then maybe our blueline will work itself out without us having to trade away core players like Bennett.

Well eberle comes with a steep contract. I would think Bennett has slightly higher value due to his potential and anticipated cap hit.

Why are we back to this "trade Bennett" nonsense? Kid's only 21 years old and played freat for us in the back half of the season and in the playoffs. He's still a young player with some nice upside who's been playing with some not very good linemates lately. He's still shown a lot of promise.

I mean, he isn't untradeable. Nobody is for the right price. I just hope Bennett's right price is pretty high.
