No, Tampa gave Vegas Nikita Gusev, 2017 2nd and a 2018 4th.
He's under contract in Russia but he just put up 24g, 71pts in 57gp. Risk of never coming over, but is really, really good. - eichiefs9
Oh, I thought you were talking about Mikhail Sergachev |

So far it appears the first step is in place to make a splash. The last thing the isles need or care about are picks. It free'd up space. I really think they're getting both Eberle and Duchene |

Honestly Dan, it seems steeper than we all thought, however let's see what the other protection deals are so we have something gauge the price Snow paid.
Again sitting here right now it was a steep price to basically take Grabo. - nyisles7
Detroit gave up the 15th pick in last years draft (a good one) to get rid of datsyuk's contract |

1) his rights can be traded for a draft choice, so yes he is.
2) don't need to mention it, we have been discussing Grabo going for a first the last couple days on here.
3) Bailey, Strome, Bahahahaha please go away!
4) see below

Well yeah, Ken Holland is a (frank)ing moron.
Might not be the guy you want to compare against.

Based on what's been reported it seems more likely that Strome might go for Eberle.
Hamonic would probably be part of a Duchene or Galchenyuk deal. TSN guys were saying that Snow's price for Hamonic was very high. - eichiefs9
I was wrong again if that happens |

Berube leaves #isles with unusual streak - a "no decision" in last 4 appearances. He was 3-0-1 w 6 no decisions in last 10 gms w NYI

Exactly my point. I'll take Jake Bischoff and a 2019 2nd round pick over that. |

Still seeing lots of "why didn't they just put Grabo on LTIR?" Not that simple. LTIR is complicated and hurts you if don't time it right.
Whether you think the move was OK or terrible, this seems like a pretty lame excuse. Teams get cap relief by using LTIR all the time, no? Is Garth really sweating it out every year with dramatic music playing in the background as he stresses over getting the timing just right with putting Grabo on LTIR? |

1) no he is not, he made sure you missed the play offs last year (ofc also because of snow)
2) ok boss of the topic
3) 15th picks between 2005 and now: O'Marra, Helenius, Plante, Karlsson, Holland, Forbort, J.T. Miller, Ceci, Pulock, Larkin, Senyshyn, Kunin.
We could say that 4 out of 12 picks have been better than any of those guys mentioned (if you want to be creative you can add more, but then you're not looking objectively to the moves Snow makes anymore).
Now I will (frank) off. Don't be mad |

He traded three first rd'rs in 2007 to EDM for Smith and the 2015 to BUF. This year's fifteenth is more of a trade chip if McPhee wants to move up and grab a player higher than his sixth. The cap space and keeping all his players looks like he is in more of the 'win now' mode. |

Am I the only one that doesn't think this is that bad of a deal? I know I'm basing it off assumed future deals but all the big insiders have the isles getting multiple guys and they just took the 1st major step to get there |

So that 15th is an NHL player gaurenteed and this one is a crap shoot? Make me laugh how all draft choices are crap shoots until it doesn't help your cause or belief.
Come on that was a first round draft choice 15th for Datskuk's 3 year 7.5 million dollar cap per year hit to a team that was cap crunched.
Thanks for agreeing what Garth gave was steep |

It's a bad move only if big moves are not made. If Duchene and Eberle are brought it then it paid off. |

No matter what ppl will always complain. Watch if he acquires Eberle/Duchene or whoever. Someone will always complain |

As a nyr fan I would love to say that Snow made a bad deal with Vegas. He got rid of some players who who were of no real consequence, unless you feel Ber u be is next starting goalie. Gained 5mill in cap space, and saved a player who would get picked by Vegas. Either strome, or pulock or whoevet can now be used in a package to get dechene , eberle, or ??. |
