A lot of you just want to be angry no matter what happens. Last night we could have lost one of our young starting players..we didn't and you are still angry. It's amazing to me. |

Can't wait to find out the reason Pelech was protected over DeHann. - David_Volek
I will give it to u... A deal was in place with Vegas so He knew deHaan was safe.. AND they are probably including deHaan in a trade. It was a way to tell Pelech he is important to the team b/c u knew deHaan was gone. |

Done deal: Trevor van Riemsdyk is heading from Vegas to Carolina. Details to come. #TSN
Maybe this triggers the Avalanche of trades. Get it. |

Vegas acquired F David Clarkson, Columbus' 1st-round pick in the 2017 NHL Draft (No. 24) and Columbus' 2nd-round pick in 2019... they also took a 24 year old forward who was a starter on their team and had his best year. What exactly are you talking about? .. That is less? - niteislander
The big difference is Clarkson has 3 years left on his deal. I would have liked to see the Isles give Vegas a 2nd for Grabo and another 2nd round pick to protect some players. I'll feel better if the Isles can pull off a Duchene deal. Right now it's real tough as we wait for deals to happen. |

LTIR can only be used during the season and doesn't accumulate. It is a dollar for dollar per day. So putting him on LTIR does Nothing till the season starts and you can only go over the cap a certain amount during the summer. It is easily worth a second round pick 3 years from now to get rid of that $.
The first round pick is to keep all of our guys. What do you think another team would give Vegas if they offered them Strome, deHaan, or Brock Nelson? At least a first round pick.. no? It was not a bad move by Garth. - niteislander
Nope not a bad move, just paid a higher price than we thought a couple days prior.
CBJ did the same thing with a higher Avg Cap hit per year and 3 more years on Clarkson's contract. Just looking at that Snow didn't give more for less? Again I like the move and hopefully he does something with this over payment and doesn't over pay to get the pieces he needs.
As I said last night I hope it works out well and this Fan base has something to get excited for again, as we have waited far to long for something good to happen to this club.

I'm not sure what people are so concerned about. I think it was a good deal. Got rid of that hideous, albatross of a contract in Grabo, a goalie whose contract expires in 2 weeks and a prospect who'll be a career minor-leaguer ( in all likelihood). In exchange for keeping the entire roster, Snow gave up a 1st & a 2nd 3 years from now. What is bad about it? |

Honeslty I though George would be a little nicer to his buddy Garth. I thought the Isles giving a couple of 2nd round picks would be more than fair since Grabo only has one year left. One 2nd for Grabo and one for taking Berube. |

Albatross of a contract?? It only had one year left on it. Much more serious potential albatrosses are Ladd, Clutterbuck, and eventually even Boychuk. |

While they are, I'm simply talking about Grabo. At least those guys are playing. Grabo won't ever play again. |
