Only thing that bothered me with those signings was the fact they were the type that should've been done the summer JT was drafted. Sadly we needed to overpay to get players here and to start to turn the team around.

It's all part of Snow's 20 year rebuild plan. Only 9 more years before the cup is ours. |

Let's see how many teams ask for Bailey in trades this offseason. - ses111

So, what if he held firm on 3 years and they both signed elsewhere? Grabo was a decent-good player. Brought a little speed and scoring. Kuli, meh. Solid 3rd-liner.
I agree on Ladd's term. - Isleshockeyman
Great if they sign elsewhere. This is where Garth needs to have alternate plans in place. |

I can't believe people are saying this trade was bad for the isles. I got into some arguement with a dude last night cause he COULDNT BELIEVE we added a 2019 2nd round pick. Talk about crying over spilled milk. Go ahead and lose your temper over a 2nd round pick THREE drafts away. what the (frank) goes on in this world? |

I don't get to argue with anyone. I'm the only hockey fan for a hundred miles.
I think it's a good deal. Keep the core, and build on it. Hopefully. |

I am 50/50 on what Snow did last night. I think he did get kind of fleeced giving up picks to not pick guys like Strome or Bailey who are horrible anyway so who cares if they go. Berube was good and Grabo ws fine. I think the second pick should have been enough. Snow could have used the first pick in another trade for a bona fide NHL player. All in all he cleared space and needs to do something with that . Plus if he gets Duchense and Eberle he is going to have to trade a forward or two. We all know Bailey is going no where for some reason as I dont think any team in teh NHL wants that clown. I do feel that him making this trade and keeping his forwards that were unprotected was so that he can flip some of those forwards for better pieces. I guess we shall see |

The pick was to not take, Nelson or DeHaan, so lets see how it plays out. |

The pick was to take JF Berube and Grabovski. The "protection" was, inherently, for everyone not named Berube and Grabovski. |

I'm sure they did NOT want them to take Halak who has value with a signed contract so that was also part of giving up 2 draft picks. PITT also sent them a pick as insurance against picking Rust or Kunitz etc. Essentially losing MAF cleared some cap space for them as well. |
